It strikes me that players can call timeouts too...

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Or throw in a first-round pick and flip it for a max-level point guard...

This is worse because you could argue that he had to deal with LeBron. What’s Rick’s excuse?

I agree we’re stuck with this loser but maybe the Pacers fans at the game will chant Fire Carlisle or something

Tell me what all world defenders we have for RC to legitimately match with Brown and Tatum. Tell me what 2 guys on our roster are on those guys’ level when it comes to single handedly carrying your team offensively and getting iso go to buckets.

Look it’s one thing if we lost outright but it’s real suspect when in Game 2 he waved the white flag and pulled starters.

This is a shot at the title you go down swinging or so we’re supposed to believe.

His gaffes are more glaring than how the Pacers played. That being said you have a point I shouldn’t be bothered by this I picked the Celtics in 4 after all

I think Siakam is on that level offensively. Celtics were doubling him late last night.

Dirk Nowitzki's 2011 playoff run counts as 3 rings since he had to carry Rick Carlisle as well

Yeah but you hire a coach to….coach. Who has more experience to make sure the timeout happens there….the second year player or the coach with over 20 years of head coaching experience?

Sure a player can call timeout, but there is a reason that teams have coaches, ie these sorts of situations.

71 years old Ace Ventura holding a grudge against Mathurin in spite of him playing better than Nembhard and Nesmith
The coach should develop players and help them get back into rythm as they return from injury, instead he just criticizes Mathurn publicly and gives him 5 minutes of play time, crazy
Nothing has changed from last year. We already lost 2 close games because of lack of gameplan in the closing minutes.

Carlisle should be fired immediately. Easily one of the worst coaches in the NBA.
Being unable to close out a game in which you have a comfortable lead in the 4th Q = Pulling a Frank Vogel

You may make that argument in the first 2 games. But against Philly, math is unplayable if his shot is not falling.

so many times, they set a pick to open up the man (obre a few times) mathurin is guarding, and they have free drive to the hoops. And the pacers bigs now have to rotate.

Defense is about effort, and math just don’t want to fight over screens.

thats why they played shep in the 3rd qtr. as shep will fight over screens.

lets not pretend haliburton or nembhard play defense, why the selective blame?

Yes, nembhard plays defence. He fights over screens and will stay in front of his man.

hali is not a defensive stopper, but he is better this year than last year. And hali provides offence and playmake.

Maybe you can indicate why mathurin deserve more playing time if his shot is off, and is not putting the effort in defence?

Because mathurin was playing better defensively in the 4th quarter against maxey. After getting pulled earlier.

Math flashes defensive ability. But it still very inconsistent.
