Game Preview
After another double-digit loss on Sunday night in Portland, the Pacers (12-11) will try to bounce back on the second night of a back-to-back at Golden State (13-11).
Indiana has dropped four of five to start its seven-game Western Conference road trip following Sunday's 116-100 loss to the Trail Blazers. Sunday's game was made considerably more difficult by the fact that the Blue & Gold were missing two point guards, as star guard Tyrese Haliburton missed his first game of the season with a sore left groin and backup T.J. McConnell was unavailable due to a non-COVID illness.
Haliburton has already been ruled out for Monday's game against the Warriors, but McConnell could conceivably return depending on how he is feeling.
Without either point guard, the Pacers hung around for two quarters in Portland, but them down in the third quarter. Indiana surrendered 39 points in the frame as the Blazers pulled away in the second half.
The schedule doesn't get any easier for the Blue & Gold, who now have a date with the defending NBA champions. The Warriors showed signs of a championship hangover early in the season, but have righted the shape over the last few weeks, winning seven of their past nine.
Two-time league MVP and reigning Finals MVP Stephen Curry is having another spectacular season, averaging 30.8 points (fourth in the league), 6.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists through his first 22 games. The Davidson alum is shooting 44.5 percent from 3-point range while attempting just under 12 threes per game and is also an efficient 51.1 percent from the field and 90.3 percent from the free throw line.
The Warriors have plenty of scoring talent around Curry in Andrew Wiggins (19.1 points per game), Klay Thompson (17.5), and Jordan Poole (16.7). Draymond Green continues to do a little bit of everything for Golden State, averaging 8.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 7.1 assists.

Noteworthy
- The Pacers have never lost at Chase Center, winning all three games at Golden State since the arena opened in 2019.
- Indiana and Golden State will meet again next week, with the Warriors set to visit Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Dec. 14.
- Pacers sharpshooter Buddy Hield needs four 3-pointers on Monday to reach 1,500 for his career. If he reaches that mark on Monday, he would do so in 492 career games, which would make him the second-fastest to reach the milestone in NBA history, trailing only Curry (477 games). Golden State's Klay Thompson was the next fastest, accomplishing the feat in 517 games.
