I'm ready for an Odd Thoughts! Who's with me?!

Before the season started and amidst all the PD tank talk, I told myself, "The magic number is 8: if we have at least 8 wins after 20 games, I'll double down in my assertion that we are going to compete for a playoff spot THIS season." We're now 5-5 with a lot of pleasant surprises on the squad. I think it's time to mothball the tank.

"He’s no shrinking violet when it comes to that kind of stuff."

    - Rick Carlisle on how Kevin Pritchard responds to needed roster changes.

If we beat Denver or Toronto, we should consider parking the tank.

Tyrese and Benn is looking real, real good. And Nembhard off the bench or blended with the starters is great. And I know it’s unpopular, but Duarte is really solid. Our guards are set for a long, long time.

hali will never be a defensive stopper, but he's at least long and athletic and can get into passing lanes. all he needs to be with what he is on offense.

I may or may not have belly laughed when you dropped that Westworld line.

What a pleasant surprise this season has become and how much our perspective has changed over the course of just a few weeks. Even if the wheels fall off the bus here at some point, I'm thoroughly enjoying this roster and this team. Rick deserves a pat on the back as well because he's been approaching this with seemingly just the right amount of teaching, discipline and patience.

Very nice game for the Pacers. The Pelicans were no pushover. It's the first time I've seen Zion in person, he's a very good player. Pacers keep getting better, and better. Go Pacers!!

Ideally, I'd pawn off Duarte plus our 2023 1sts... even our own unprotected if necessary... for a legit wing with elite potential. Duarte simply is not needed and we do lack that 6'7-6'10 wing presence that ultimately wins you titles.

I think what matters is where we are come December 31st. That will decide what happens going forward.
