How are we worse than last year?

Although we had a horrible coach, the pacers were doing better than this year. I see almost no fight or hustle, which is vital to play some defense. We suck. But bringing in a hi-end coach would get the best out of these guys. Bring his great “championship pedigree” to the pacers and we would see great strides!!! What is going on?? Was Doug McDermmot the key to our “success” last year??

    We’re missing Aaron Holiday
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

I've finally been able to log back in!!! It's only been about 12-15 months haha.

Anyway, I don't think we are worse than last year so much as other teams are better. Chicago has obviously upgraded their roster, those Charlotte youngsters are a year older & even Washington has managed to build a more balanced team. We've simply failed to improve, but I don't think we've got worse.

Majority of teams in the east got better. Only the Bucks, Celtics, Hawks, and Pacers really stayed the same

They are but they didn’t make drastic moves like other teams. Heat, Bulls, Knicks

Not improving is not conducive to building a good team.

                  Easy.

The only real move was to draft Duarte and Jackson, but those were long term moves that only has some short term benefits. Herb looked at roster and the results from last season, thought that it was good enough to win a championship and did nothing to improve on it.

Now, you may think that I'm using hyperbole to say that the Pacers could win a Championship. But unless we are rebuilding ( which we aren't ), then the goal is to win a Championship. Nothing was done to improve the team to get to the next level or even make it out of the 1st round.

So, it's worse cuz the bus driver is driving the same bus and using the same route but we're not going anywhere different.

Are you sure the coach is better this year? Lol. We are a joke thanks to Kevin Pritchard.

Plus Garland took a lot of steps in the right direction and looks like one of the best guards in the conference

It most certainly isn't & pretty sure most of us didn't want to run it back, but I just feel like we are the same team as last year. Record is worse because the competition is better, so hopefully as the free fall continues we see some changes.

As some others have stated, it’s not that we have gotten worse, it’s that most other teams have gotten better.
