So now that it?s official, Myles turner is NOT a top 3 finalist for DPOY

This is an honest question. Why do you think that is.

I mean we know why Vnzla81 and others (myself included) donโ€™t think he is but itโ€™s easy to say we are biased.

However why do the voters who vote for these awards not give him credit?

The TNT crew did not even mention Myles as an honorable mention (which they did for several other award categories).

He was considered 3rd about halfway through the season. But he ended up missing a ton of time.

People aren't going to reward someone who missed 25 games and was on a mediocre overall defense unless that player was the best player in the league by a mile when he played. And Myles wasn't, he was likely to finish 3rd or 4th before he missed the time.

Wouldnโ€™t expect him to be. Missed a bunch of games.

At the end of the day, I think itโ€™s going to come down to Myles improving his rebounding numbers, deflections, and steals if he wants to win DPOY one day.

The people voting for these awards want numbers - emphasis on the plural - instead of a leader in one statistical category.
I think KP is a Captain Planet fan. He believes that the collective will of five decent starters can outweigh the power of top-level talent. Too bad Herb won't cut the check for their Planeteer rings.

Itโ€™s real simple, he donโ€™t rebound like Gobert and Capella.

Because the people making the nominations are unqualified. I could very quickly make a list of players more deserving than at least one of the finalists, if not two of them.

Not exactly sure why you say that? I posted it because the finalist were named on the pre game show on TNT, he was not one of the finalist. Three weeks ago when there was a tabulation of some voters (before they voted) and he was not even considered then and he had only not been playing for about 1-2 weeks. in other words he was never really considered by the voters.

Myles is a good defensive player playing on a very poor defensive team. He has warts to his game just like Sabonis. But Sabonis does two things well.
Myles does one thing well. I am pretty sure we have seen the last of Myles. So people wont have to CONSTANTLY whine about him anymore.
Myles has sat the last what 25 games? Considering how bad everyone thought he was you would think the Pacers would be a juggernaut with him out.
Actually their record was worse percentage wise. And this last game is what we are going to see a lot of next year as far as defense around the rim. And Goga is not all that either. He gets pushed around too.
I would be going after another center in the second round this year

If your team is not in the top 5 of the league record wise. I don't see how you could possibly win a DPOY. If we were top 4 in the conference he'd get a few votes, but certainly not 9th.

We're certainly a way better defensive team with him, than without. Doesn't really matter though, since the team was irrelevant with or without him.

Your honest opinion is that he would have made a difference? What we would have only given up 146? Or are you trying to imply that he would have led us to victory?

100%....he shaves 20 points off the Wiz total by himself, assuming Nate doesn't play some crazy defensive scheme...
