To me it's not "forward thinking." I don't see anything remotely close to team building by bringing in this type of player on this type contract to be your starting point guard.

If a signing is not helping the long term growth of the team then it's hurting it.

This signing is clearly not a move to help move this team forward.

There was nothing wrong with that trade and there's nothing wrong with Thad. The only reason to trade him now is because we clearly need to start building for the future. That wasn't the idea a year ago.

Trade sucked. Plenty of good players were at 20. McCaw and Dejounte Murray for example. The dude the Nets drafted, Lavert, can also play

The 20th pick was our pick & we traded it for Thad Young...which is my least favorite move Larry ever made. I think I'd be able to name the player with 1 try without Google. Not to mention the player was drafted by Indiana & wore a Pacers cap. I think several fans would be able to name him.

Under no circumstances should DC be our starting pg. We got hammered by the Cavs because Teague and Monta were too small and DC is even smaller.

Lance and VO is the way to go as our starting back court.

I'm not sure. Let's look at the salaries on the books beyond the 2018-2019 season. There is VO, the renovated salary for Turner, then very little else of much consequence. Is it possible that we think we can attract multiple decent free agents by being the team with most cap space to accommodate their desire for playing together. After all, that is the new personnel model that has been established in the league.

It doesn't matter, though. We aren't trying to beat the Cavs. We probably aren't trying to beat anyone. Get good guys who work hard and fit well with the building blocks and go from there. Lance/Dipo backcourt is problematic. Plus Lance is the perfect 6th man.

No one's saying that DC is the future. It's just 20 million. That's bench player money under the current CBA.

Since the second year is partial it is basically a cheaper Rose and Reddick player. One year bet that doesn't hurt next offseason. Larry could never learn to do this.

20th pick for Thad might be Larry's worst trade he made here. That trade did not work out at all. Now we're trying to deal him.

Where are you hearing that they are trying to trade Thad? I'm gonna guess not from any reliable source. Just what someone on the forum (maybe you) suggested, and you're gonna run with it.

Not like they were steam rolling the tiny guys. They dared Lance to shoot 3's and he just about hit 40%. Not sure when he's going to get love.
