I am eating crow on Stuckey. My initial reaction to his signing was one of horror. After I got over my initial reaction I said I was hoping for a pleasant surprise, but he far exceeded pleasant surprise. I would love to have him back as our 6th man for many years.

Cheapest 6th man on earth! Had some really great games, but wasn't as effective as Miles, when the games counted the most (ok, he was good in the last Detroit game). Like his aggressivenes and I love that he worked on his jumpshot! When he is on, he is killer...had a bunch of 30 point games! Like him as a person, looks like he was a good team mate and what I love the most about him is that he accepts to come off the bench! No ego stuff going on, just the hunger to win and get to the playoffs and prove some doubters wrong! Have to keep him but don't overpay!

A- for Stuckey. He played far above his pay grade and did exactly what we brought him in to do. He worked very hard on his 3 point and jump shot. You never have to run a play for him. When he goes To the hole, he goes hard. The defense either has. To foul him or let him get the shot off. He does what ever is asked of him and works hard.

I was talking about Stuckey this weekend at an alumni gathering with a friend of mine that is a lifelong Pistons fan. His comment, and I think it sums it up quite well, is this: Stuckey isn't good enough defensively to play with the starters. But he is good enough defensively to play with the second unit. Clearly his offense is not a concern. With the right role, I'd like for the Pacers to bring him back. But he may have played his way to a contract the Pacers can't afford.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Carried us for a month offensively. Accepted his role brilliantly. Seems to genuinely enjoy being here. I don't know what else to say. He's the 6th man going forward, but I think he means a lot more than that. I would rate him as the secondary leader this year after GHill.

Fantastic season from Stuckey. Beat my expectations (which were low to begin with). Totally cool with bringing him back. Just not at a huge cost. Maybe $2-4M/season for a couple of seasons.

                Stuckey Grade: A-
First time in a long time, I've been happy with the team that was constructed, and now they struggle. I blame the coach.

I think we saw the good Stuckey and I like that. His defense isn't terrible, he seems to try and is adequate

It is nice having a player who can get his own shot

Stuckey is a very good 6th man. He brings scoring off the bench. Even when his shot isn't falling, he is still aggressive enough to get to the line. He's a good FT shooter and his 3 point shooting was a pleasant surprise. I think between the fact that he worked on his 3 point shooting plus he was in a situation where he could get some open looks helped tremendously.

I would be surprised if he shot 39% from 3 next year, but I think he can hit 35-36% and with his game that is plenty good enough.

So many were genuinely pissed when we signed Stuckey. I was one of the few that thought he'd fit in very well here, and I'm glad that he played to my expectations.

Stuckey was always a guy who I enjoyed watching in DET. I always thought his problem was that DET tried to make him a creator, which isn't his game. Stuck is a finisher, a guy who needs to only have two options offensively (look for his shot or pass). Asking him to create offense or facilitate, and you're making him think more than he should (as we saw when he had to play PG)

I also think the thing about Stuckey being a headcase was completely overblown by some. He was nothing but a complete professional here.

I hope we can re-sign him for the cheap. He seems to genuinely like to be here.

I definitely grade him as our 6th man

If we re-sign Stuckey for the long term ( which I think Bird will ), I think that we will have 5 long-term Guards and Forwards....GH, PG13, Miles, Solo and ( likely ) Stuckey in the lineup.

On a Championship Caliber Team; I think that Miles, Solo and Stuckey are best suited to come off the bench with GH and PG13 as the only real Starter that I want to build around. But you can see the problem now.....if Bird finds an actual Combo-PG replacement ( just another Scoring Guard that can do a good enough impression of a PG but can also play "off the ball" )......then we are talking about 6 Guards and Forwards vying for minutes that simply aren't there.

My preference is to simply make Stuckey the backup PG......not find a replacement Backup PG. This would allow us to run find a new Starting SG while having enough minutes for a legit Championship Caliber Guard/Forward.

Unfortunately, I just think that Bird will find a new Backup PG to fill Watson's place.

The only part that he ( and many of us ) didn't see was that Stuckey was actually an effective 3pt shooter....which allowed him to actually be effective as an "off the ball" Player when he was on the floor. Other than that, I think that Kstat was pretty accurate in his assessment. Stuckey primary played "on the ball".....as Kstat said....which was something that he was clearly capable of playing.
