12 of our remaining 25 games are against teams under .500. If we win all of those then we would need to go 6-7 against the rest of the field.

Possible, but it's hard not to expect us to stumble a few times against teams we should beat. We do have a pretty favorable schedule overall, though.

Look at the teams we are competing with as well. Who really would you think is capable of sustained good play? Brooklyn, Charlotte, Miami and Detroit do not scare me.

BTW....with Chicago faltering due to the loss of Rose, Toronto starting to slide and Cleveland starting to rise......it's beginning to look a lot like ATL and Cleveland at the #1 and #2 spots.

This is simply an analysis of our ability to get to .500, not to make the playoffs.

IMO, the Pacers and Pistons will get the final two playoff spots, with Miami and Brooklyn/Charlotte sliding out. We'll be competing with Detroit for the #7 seed.

With our current play I think it is likely we make the playoffs, .500 is still iffy though.

To put it cut and dry, we need to go 18-7 in the next 25 games to be a .500 team. Broken down into "halves," over the next 12 games we need to go 9-3 and the final 13 games we need to go 9-4.

I've never paid much attention to this thread, but I always assumed it was a ".500 record from this point on" as opposed to finishing 41-41; that ship has sailed. If we make the playoffs it will be with a record similar to what Atlanta had last year against us, 38-44, maybe worse.

I definitely think Det will get in. That last spot will come down to BOS, IND, and MIA imo. Whomever can be the most consistent. Im nervous about our chances, but we hold our fate in our hands.

You gotta take advantage of the breaks when they come your way and the Pacers did last night. Double wammy for all the LeBron fans who were treated to James Jones and a loss. This win keeps us squarely on pace as well.

We've officially reached one of our group goals with the win last night. Any additional win in Group C is just more leeway for the other groups. Looks like we might need some leeway for Group B. We have a chance to really pick up some big time momentum in these next 7 games. I have us marked as a W vs Philly tommorrow. Let's keep it rolling.

Just gotta keep taking care of business against these lower echelon clubs. A good team win last night. Seemed like everyone that played impacted the game in some way. Pacers and Thunder both 8-2 in last 10 games (tops in the league). This win also brings us to 14-14 at home. Trap game Wednesday. Guys need to stay focused and get the W.

Last night was a game we needed to have and we delivered. I’ve heard a lot of talk on the airwaves the last week or so about how lucky we’ve gotten to play almost every team from the last 3 weeks without their best players. Boo f***ing hoo is what I have to say. We’ve been without our best player all year and for long stretches were without 4 of our top 6. I don’t wanna hear nunna dat “it was a win BUT….” bullsh*t. A quality of a good team is they win games they should win.

I have us down for a loss Friday but I also couldn’t have expected Chicago would be without Derick Rose AND Jimmy Butler when I started this thread a month and a half ago. On top of that, Chicago will be playing the 2nd game of a back to back on the road. This will probably be the best opportunity we’ve had so far to move ahead of the outlined pace toward .500. We need as many Group B wins as we can get. Also, you keep falling Milwaukee (down to 5.5 out of 6th with two head to heads remaining against them).

                          Group A (2-3)
                          Atlanta (L) Dallas (H) Golden State (W) Memphis (A) New Orleans (W) Sacramento (L) San Antonio (L)
                          Prediction: (3-4)

                          Group B (4-4)
                          Boston (H,A) Brooklyn (H,A) Chicago (H,A) Detroit (W,A) Houston (L ,H) Miami (L,H) Milwaukee (H,A) Oklahoma City (L,H) Orlando (W,H) Philadelphia (2W) Toronto (L,H) Washington (A,H)
                          Prediction: (16-8)

                          Group C (3-1)
                          Charlotte (L,W,H) Cleveland (2W,A)
                          Prediction: (3-3)

                          Group D (2-0)
                          New York (2W,A,A)
                          Prediction: (4-0)

I have to admit, when this thread was posted I thought phree was being overly optimistic. I am starting to see the light though. The way this team has persevered is a testament to Frank keeping it together.

This is also the second night of a back to back for the Bulls. Combine that with the fact the pacers had an easy win vs the Knicks this game becomes immensely winnable. Let's just keep the momentum going.
