312 is great. I know a lot of people who like Oberon, but I was really unimpressed when I had it. I thought it was worse than Leinekugel's Sunset Wheat. I also like Gumballhead which is Three Floyd's wheat beer.

        Lienie's Honey Weiss.

Or a Honey Bear - 1/2 Honey Weiss and 1/2 Berry Weiss.

Living in Chicago, I find Goose Island to be very overrated.

Many of the companies are coming out with seasonal brews now....I'll usually sample whatever summer ales come out, maybe stock up on them if there's a deal going on at the store.

If anyone comes to Santa Monica/Venice, I'll take you to LIbrary Alehouse. Great beer, great food. Can't miss.

Leinies' Octoberfest is amazing for a seasonal beer.

Info on the Brewers of Indiana Guild Microbrewers Festival July 18th.

Good time. For $30 you get to sample hundreds of the best beers Indiana Microbreweries have to offer, all in a souvenir glass.

Yes. Definitely their best brew - especailly since Northwoods is not being distributed these days. I'm not a fan of either their Sunset Wheat or Summer Shandy, and I don't like many of the summer seasons anymore. Their Oktoberfest is probably the best Oktoberfest not brewed in the mother country.

Beer connoisseur? Isn't that along the lines of military intelligence?

I consider it "solid". Don't know if that's overrated or not. I thought their "Mild Winter" was pretty good.

Although not a "connoisseur" beer, I'm fond of Leinies Red.

Their 'fest is very good for an American one, although I prefer Hacker-Pschorr or Spaten.

I'm seeing a lot of "Fat Tire" in stores right now. Looks like they are trying the Indianapolis market. Good stuff. I could drink that all day.

Indy, one more note about the Microbrew Fest I mentioned above. It's definitely a beer lover's event. By that I mean you won't run into any kids trying to drink as much as they can in 4 hours. You will be surrounded by folks that know and love beer. It's great.

Good, that's not really my style anyway. I guess we all have nights where we need to cut loose, but when I'm drinking good beer I prefer to pace myself and enjoy it.

I am the same way. It is funny I use to drink beer to get drunk. And now that I am legal age I like it for the taste, and hate the taste when I drink too much, too fast.

Does anyone know if this event usually sells out? I am iffy for that weekend and would likely need to buy tickets the day of the event if I can attend.

I need to try the Three Floyds Dark Imperial Stout. I have no clue why I have never picked any up - I may go buy some today.

I love Watney's Cream Stout but sadly can no longer get that here.

Fat Tire has been a nice refreshing addition this spring/summer.
