Well well well... Look what happened Mr Grigson. It's not actually that we wanted and needed some serious additions there and not camp bodies, eh? I remember us talking about the crucial help both OL and safeties need in the FA and draft since Landry is injury prone and a bit bad and Bethea leaving could be seen far away.
Did nothing of that (unless you think Mike Adams is the saviour) and now we have Sergio Brown...We can always trade our 1st or 2nd pick though

Our depth is fine imo, Delano Howell is/was fully capable of starting and playing well, and Mike Adams is one of the best back-up safeties in the league, im not worried

I just hope he's okay that's really all I'm concerned with at the moment.

It sucks to lose Howell, but Adams was balling in the last preseason game. We'll be okay.

So he is a 33 years old back up safety who is probably gonna become a starter. I am not writing him off and I know he is a solid player but I wonder if he will last and honestly our depth there is anything but fine. We'll see how that evolves during the season.

I'm probably being overly optimistic here, but I think our front 7 is so good, that it won't matter whom we put back at the safety position

It's not a Colts season without losing half our team to IR.
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

Since 2013, Indianapolis has the second-most AGL with 110.3 (average: 70.2)

Since 2012, Indianapolis has the third most AGL with 202.8 (average: 134.7)

Since 2011, Indianapolis has the second-most AGL with 287.5 (average: 194.7)

Since 2010, Indianapolis has the most AGL with 378 (average: 245.5)

This has to go beyond simple bad luck, does it not? We're not just talking about a couple of years here. We're talking about a five (or six with how bad this year has started) year trend of being one of the most injured teams in the NFL. Why does this keep happening every single season?

You have to take Bob Sanders into account for much of that
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

On a serious note I wonder how much of that (injuryitis from year's past) is because of our use of 'small and fast' defensive players? In the Dungy era followed by Caldwell we were always playing undersized on defense. And then moving forward from that changes don't happen in a day. Like I always said, if you put a small, fast defense on the field then at the start of the season they sure will be fast, but as the season moves on they'll be dinged up and beaten down. So they won't be nearly as fast as the start of the season... but they'll still be small.

Just seemed like a recipe for injuries to me from the start.
