If Lance could put average 10, 5, and 5 next year with good efficiency, that would be a major success. I'm especially interested to see what his rebounding numbers are like on a team where you have two bigs that rebound well.

I respect your opinion of Lance, and I would have agreed with you if this was last summer, but Lance is not better than JJ Reddick or Jamaal Crawford. I think Lance will be better than last season, but he will not really be a featured player in their rotation. Lance is the Clippers version of Chase Budinger on Indiana
Lance is a much better defender than jj or Crawford. He is also far more physical and strong enough to play SF. Obviously the other two are better shooters.

He is certainly a better defender than Crawford but I'm not so sure about JJ. Lance is a much better on-ball defender than JJ but he's also a worse off-ball defender. He has the tendency to ball watch and get lost defensively a lot. So, I'm not sure which one of them is better defensively.

I think Lance may be better defensively matched up against SFs. I can see him getting a lot of run at that position for the Clips.

    Especially with Paul Peirce's age.

Yeah, that's probably right. He doesn't have to chase them around screens and he can utilize his strength a lot better against them.

Having a discussion about Pacers and we starting talking about Lance..let me ask you guys something: IN HINDSIGHT, If Lance didn't have the on court shenanigans, would he be worth the 11 mil he wanted?

Let's see how he plays this season. Obviously, last season didn't help his value . I would have rather paid him what he got from Charlotte then paying Roy 15 million. Or West as far as that's concerned.

That would be a Major Success for 90% of all the leagues bench players.

Lance didn't combine those averages starting here 2 years in a round. The last season here he was barely over that while playing 35 minutes a game with the ball in his hands A LOT. You really think he'll do that in LA? If he does good for him. I don't see it, I far see another train wreck season.

It's an interesting "What If", but in the end completely impossible to decide. If Lance was different mentally would he be the same competitor? Likely not.

Lance was paid for his 1.5 years at the starting 2 and to improve. The problem is that he didn't improve what he needed to (his off the ball abilities). If he's a different person then maybe he works on his terribly inconsistent mid to long game and his defensive awareness (STOP LETTING PEOPLE BACK DOOR YOU!).

Lance is an incredible athlete, but has a terrible basketball IQ. I don't foresee him reviving his career in LA. I hope I'm wrong for his sake.

I'm not sure it was the money -- the scary part was the team option for year #3 meant that you'd have "Contract year Lance" (which I felt was the same as Bad Lance) right away again. I don't wish that on anybody.

Still, there can't be much doubt left that the system made Lance and not vise-versa, and now that system has been blown up. Lance's best bet is to try to get to Memphis as he'd likely do pretty well as a fourth or fifth option on that roster.

Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Nothing wrong with it at all. It's practically a list of cliches that athletes spout. But I'm sure someone would take exception to Lance being too "me-focused". Granted, most Players Tribune articles seem that way, it's kind of the point after all.

A very well done PR piece, written by a top pro (certainly not the "contributer" Lance Stephenson, lol).
