    Default Michael Beasley

I'll probably get blasted for this idea, but wouldnt Beasley be work taking a look at? I understand he can be a headcase but so was Lance and everyone (except a handful of people) wanted him back.

Moving George to SG and letting Beasley play SF would be great. We definitely need to fill the void of a starting swingman - we cant let Miles be our starting SG, hes just not going to cut it.

Last year, we had issues with our offense - Beasley would fill that.

We could have a potential rotation of:

    Stuckey/Hill/Watson
    George/Miles/Stuckey/Hill
    Beasley/Hill
    West/Scola
    Hibbert/Mahinmi

I think that rotation is better than what we had last season. If we could get Beasley into a one year non-guaranteed contract it would be a no brainer. It would be worth the risk (of Beasley acting up)
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

Forget his off the court stuff, I just don't think he is a very good basketball player. I would pass.

So why would we lose Lance and bring someone in to replace his worst aspects?

The problem I have with Beasley is that his production never seems to be a net positive. There's no doubt he's a creative and talented scorer, but he's just not a winning player.

Also I noticed you're really high on stuckey, but I don't think he's going to see lots of time over g. Hill or either of the CJs.

    I don't see how that's possible.

    1) Moving PG from his natural spot - where he's just been an All Star.

    2) Beasley - well - just no.

I would rather not watch the Pacers than watch them with Michael Beasley on the team. No exaggeration.

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I'd have been more on board with Wes Johnson than Beasley. Johnson back with the Lakers though. Good for him that someone wanted him.

I'm ready to see what Solomon Hill can do.
Lance + Starting SG = Awesome

    Now really free Lance!

See I think he's talented, big time potential scorer. He's just is horrible with every other aspect. Worse of all, I don't think he cares, at all.

I think it might have more to do with something lacking a little upstairs...

I'd bring back David Harrison as a 3rd center.....

Is Beasley completely irredeemable? Not necessarily advocating for him to come here, but is the only trajectory for the rest of his career downward? And David Harrison - The Beasley head without the Beasley talent?

FWIW I like seeing threads on this board where ideas are thrown out. Yes, this appeared to be unpopular, but don't let that keep you from exploring ways to make the roster better.

If you think an idea is questionable it's probably best not to post it here. The most likely outcome is that all of the elitist genius basketball minds that make up this board will flame you without even bothering to give a thoughtful or respectful perspective.

Beasley's main problem is that he is a tweener. Not big enough to be an effective PF, but too slow to be a SF. Add to that his off court issues and you have a guy that's just not really worth it.

Now that's not to say that he cannot make a niche for himself in the league with some work on his game. He is about the same size as Boris Diaw. If he applied himself, he has a chance to do the same kind of things that Diaw does. Beasley does have some skills, but he does not seem to be interested in making the changes to his game that he needs to make in order to be a rotation guy.

Lets try this one.... His skill set would not fit with our current roster.
