SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The Los Angeles Clippers claimed veteran point guard Kenny Anderson off waivers Monday.

Anderson was waived by Atlanta on Thursday, the same day the Hawks sent Antoine Walker back to Boston in a trade with the Celtics.
Anderson averaged just 18.4 minutes in 39 games for the Hawks this season. Anderson played for Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy in Portland during the 1997-98 season and has also played for the Nets, Celtics, Hornets and Pacers.

"Just to be playing in the league as long as I have is a blessing," Anderson said before the Clippers' game at Utah on Monday night. "I knew they were interested. I just didn't know what was going to happen. I'm excited about it. I can continue to play in the league."

Anderson has averaged 12.6 points and 6.1 assists in his 14-year career.

The Clippers released guard Maurice Baker to make room for Anderson.
