Half the fans didn't come back in when it was 28-17 at half, they wouldn't even come back in if we were winning, they don't deserve defending, our fans are pathetic
Because the fans have seen this show so many times that everyone knows the script by heart.

Explain to me why we are closing in the south end of the stadium now too? All this money funneled into a program that can't even sell out its current digs. meanwhile the 8 time national champions who play soccer next door and sell out every game can't even get a stadium upgrade.

Guess we'll never know because we limit how many people can attend the games.

With an already established national powerhouse soccer program and the way soccer is blowing up in this country, it would seem an extremely savvy business decision to me to invest in that program now and get ahead of the curve.

I can't see college soccer ever growing to the point it threatens football, people can get into soccer and not care about college soccer, most of the top end soccer players don't even go to college.

they are going to close the south end now?
i guess they want more empty seats.
putting in more seating isn't going to get you more attendance. but the A.D must think so. he probably wants more fireworks too.
to what folks were talking about earlier, i got no problem with folks leaving at halftime and not returning- it showed wisdom. they knew what was gonna happen and were done with it.
if they bought the tickets, they can leave anytime they want. i know i have left plenty of times watching a hopeless mess.

the South endzone won't add a lot of seating, its supposed to be more facilities for the players.

True. On the other hand, the soccer program doesn't incur nearly the expenses the football program does. It would be interesting to see what the bottom line is for each of the sports programs. Not just those two, but include all revenue programs.

Men's basketball and football are the only revenue programs.

    It's a recruiting tool.

Not accurate. The last I knew, the soccer team and (I think) the baseball team charge admission as well as create revenues from tournament appearances and TV appearances.

Football and men's basketball are the only programs which generate more revenue than they cost to run. Admission at soccer games and baseball games is a drop in the bucket. All the other sports get their funding from those football and men's basketball. When people say "revenue sports" they mean football and men's basketball.
