Here is your resident Trent Richardson trolling post:

Colts' average yards per rush: 5.6
Trent Richardson's average yards per rush: 2.8

I'll say one thing for the man: He is remarkably consistent.

I'm beginning to look towards Pep for our offensive shortcomings. I hate the play designs, play calls, and overall effect. There's no way an offense with the weapons we have should struggle consistently. I can't help but think that simply substituting Pep for Arians would result in a massive increase in offensive productivity, which is a direct indicator that we need a new OC.
I would highly doubt that Arians would be playing the starters or using top shelf plays (and formations) in a preseason game. Pep Hamilton also didn't make Luck or Hilton play like garbage last night either. I will say one thing for sure, PD is ready for the regular season...

Come on now. I know the rest of the team runs well, but for Trent it's the o-line's fault. Or maybe it was the roof being closed.

Rest of the team? Boom Herron versus backup players is the standard for running the ball...

I think that the Broncos are going to run through us like a buzz saw. Manning won't have all of the uncomfortable returning to Indy distractions, plus there will be no Mathis. That game could get ugly.
Not that this makes too much of a difference but Matt Prater has been suspended for 4 games

What an idiot. You have a chance to play on a great team and probably get back to the Super Bowl and you put it in jeopardy by doing drugs?

I agree his actions are dumb to put it mildly but unfortunately addicts don't think like everyone else either. Hence why its called an addiction to begin with they can't let it go. Apparently he was drinking in his home and this could've been a year but he managed to get it whittled down to 4 games.

I didn't realize that the Broncos have a rookie kicker that went to IU. Mitch Ewald I never really paid attention to him how good is he? I mean the Colts are going to see him opening weekend I'm guessing.

Trent Richardson is a bust. There, I said it.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

Now I bet the Rams wish they could have drafted Bortles...I would have to think they'd be considering Ryan Mallet from the Pats or Kirk Cousins from the Redskins. There might be a few other names but not really sure of them atm.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Even though Kurt Warner is ancient at this point he seems like a better option for them at this point.

Of course I can see someone putting the name Tim Tebow out there.

Cam Newton has hairline fracture in rib, won’t play this week

The Panthers wanted to play Cam Newton this week against the Steelers, because frankly, he needed the work.

But that’s not going to happen, as their quarterback is nursing a new injury.

According to Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review, Newton suffered a hairline fracture to a rib Friday night against the Patriots, and won’t play this week.

“There is a lot of concern. This morning he came in, and he was very, very sore,” Rivera said. “We expect him to get past the soreness the next few days, and then be able to do a lot more as the days go.”

Rivera said he was confident Newton would be ready to go for the regular season opener, but that’s an immediate concern that overlooks the bigger issue.

The Panthers have a substandard offensive line. Left tackle Byron Bell and right guard Trai Turner were among a number of players missing Sunday, and they don’t know who the right tackle is. They have a brand new corps of wide receivers. Offensive coordinator Mike Shula is not, as they say, innovative.

Couple that with Newton — who clearly has been bothered by his ankle after offseason surgery — missing so much offseason time, and there are plenty of reasons to worry about the Panthers regressing.

Agree. Blaming the line only goes so far. He has no burst, and doesn't react quick enough to improvise.

I don't think Kirk Cousins is going anywhere until RGIII proves he's not a bust. But yeah, this was a make or break season for Bradford and he quite literally broke.

    I don't even know what you're saying.
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

Rather premature to call RG3 a bust at this point I mean he had a great rookie season then he got injured. ACL injuries aren't easy to bounce back from sure there are exceptions but I need more than one season to write him off for good here.

I didn't call him a bust. I said he still has to prove that he's not a bust. Injuries are part of the game, and a big part of the bust business. He's not there yet, but I'd say he's trending that way.

He's just one tear away from entering Bradford territory.

Isn't that the same thing its like saying "I don't think this person is (insert insult) but....." you think he's a bust which is fine but I don't know how you can say you didn't call him one when you just did.

Semantics, but I don't think RG3 is trending bust yet. He'll have to be atrocious for about 3/4s of a season for the Redskins to even consider benching him, I think.

I feel bad for the guy really, but it is not any surprise that the Redskins, arguably the worst run organization in football, have botched his development. Rather than developing him as more of a pocket passer who can use the run when needed, the last coaching regime there enabled him to rely on his college-era running crutch and, to no surprise to anyone, he was seriously injured.

Apparently he was never humbled and basically given the keys to the castle as a rookie, and has kind of a crappy entitlement complex at this point and may be unsalvageable. Plus man, these DC fans are too easy in getting behind him and probably making that complex worse. I think Indy fans can be a bit too much in the doldrums on certain players, but IIRC the Manning worship in Indy had not reached RG3 levels until Manning had actually proven himself for more than a couple seasons. I have no way to quantify that, just the experience of living in each city during the rise of both players.

Yet its hard to say with RG3 and he may come out swinging this season for all I know. Even as someone not really into football I look forward to following that story. I am rooting for him, my friends here are more agreeable from September-December if the Skins are decent.
