I'm not really worried about basketball right now. It's just a game. I'm more concerned about Paul health, and once that reaches a less volatile state, I'll start worrying about the team.

I am just in a daze. Trying to imagine what the home opener is going to be like this year....just seems so surreal. At least with stuff like D-Rose there is precedent of guys returning from an ACL. Where is the precedent for a guy returning like a compound fracture like that one? There isn't one to my knowledge.
Isn't that the injury Kevin Ware had? Of course he is nowhere near Paul's level of talent but he said he's as good as he was since before he got hurt.

The only solace any of us have right now is that the Pacers have time to deal with this I mean imagine if it was during a game.

Vogel earned himself a season pass thanks to this.
I couldn't imagine the players playing after that. It's so freakin devastating.

and if he doesn't turn it over PG's not going for a chase down block. I'M NOT BLAMING ANYONE BUT FATE, TO BE CLEAR, this wasn't anyone's fault. I'm just saying we all know what Rose is coming back from, I wonder what his thought process is like.

Seeing as he didn't tear any knee ligaments that we know of, I'd lean towards him coming back 100%.

Sandman21 posted it a couple pages ago but Anderson Silva also is said to be 100%

Rose had a look of shock mixed with a "you've got to be kidding me" face. It was really the most expressive I've ever seen him, Rose is usually not emotional at all.

I was watching a movie tonight. When it was over, I glanced at my phone and saw a text from a friend that PG was injured. I obviously thought that it was a common basketball injury like an ankle or a knee. Then I logged online and saw exactly what happened. Absolutely horrible. He's such a good face for the franchise and is without question the most talented Pacer ever. Thoughts are with PG on his recovery. This is a dark day.

this is true. it would be much, much worse if it had been his knee that went out. it was a bone break. bones can make full recoveries, ligaments don't.

The picture on ESPN.com's home page is awful. He honestly looks like he is dead in that picture.

His own doctors don't even have a prognosis until they can break down the x rays.

It could be really bad and it could be just another season ending accident with no added chance of re-injury. May as well expect good news until there's reason to believe otherwise.

I don't see any way he plays next season, but I don't think it's crazy to think he could be back to 100% a year from now.

If it's near the injury that Kevin Ware experienced, I have no doubt in my mind that Paul George will comeback 110%. Are you all forgetting who this kid is? He is among the hardest working players in the league. He was a kid who didn't played middle school basketball and now he is leading the Pacers to back to back ECF at age 23. This isn't the end. This is the beginning.

Kevin Ware came back, played 9 games and then had to redshirt and then had to transfer from Louisville to Georgia State. He's played 9 basketball games since his injury in college. If that's the sort of precedent you want I guess more power to you, but IMO if Paul comes back from this at anywhere near his former level he'll be blazing a path never before seen.

That being said I just hope he's able to continue to live a happy, healthy life honestly. That is how bad it looked to me.

True. He is similar. That makes me feel slightly better. Still it took him 3 years.

I just feel sick to my stomach. I'd go to bed, but I'll probably just lie there in despair.

Yes, that's very close to Ware's injury. Ware, incidentally, tweeted "Minor setback for a major comeback PG." So maybe there is some hope. I just don't know right now.

Ware had non-injury related problems too, it wasn't just the leg

There is a lot of muscle damage to the calf likely in something like this.

I have not followed Ware's career and didn't know it was that bad. I guess the only other precedent is Anderson Silva, the MMA fighter who apparently is as good as he was before he got hurt.
