Thread: FIBA World Cup

  1. #1

    Default FIBA World Cup

Just thought I'd get a thread started about this, with Paul George basically a lock to be starting and all. FYI, Blue vs White scrimmage will be nationally televised for those that are interested.

Which channel is carrying the World Cup games? Is there a way to watch them online (legally)?

Recap thus far: PG bricking a bunch of jumpers. Derek Rose dunking in traffic and getting easy layups...

Going to be a fun year!

It was a wide open dunk, and it's been 5 minute of a scrimmage, I think we need to tone it down a bit

Rose looks great, to his credit. I have to unfortunately make the same prediction on him I did before last season: he will end up with a significant injury yet again. And before I get flak, no this is nothing to do with my opinion of him or the Bulls. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt I will be.

I think he'll make it actually I just don't think he will be MVP level, still a very good 18-20 ppg guy, just not MVP level.

I'm giving my opinion from the perspective of someone who has endured many, many recurring orthopedic injuries. I just don't think he's ever going to shake it.

This generation's Penny Hardaway then. Is that your thoughts?

Yes. Penny, Grant Hill. Take your pick.

I don't take pleasure in saying it, as much as I dislike the team he plays for.

Reading this about Derek Rose reminded me how excited I was last season. I really wanted Rose to return to his MVP self so we could beat them at full strength. Like most basketball fans I was bummed when he got hurt again. Fast forward to this year, I can't believe how losing Lance has skewed my outlook. Picturing Rose truly back at full strength just makes me feel the Bulls will leapfrog the Pacers in the standings. I'm usually pretty positive, but I'm experiencing some pessimism thats hard to shake. I hope I come around by fall.

Back to FIBA, I think this will be a great experience for PG. I am looking forward to see if he's able to take anything away from playing with all these guys.

There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.
