You can put me in the camp too as one who likes hard-nosed physical basektball.

In fact, I think we should start a pool to try to guess the first guard that Dale gets a block against or at least knocks on his arse while trying to drive the lane.

Peck, I was just kidding. I'm excited too. I still remember Dale's first game as a Pacer, he signed late, came off the bench and immedietely brought a physical presense to a very, very soft team, I think he tried to block a shot and fouled someone, but it brought a smile to his face.

Peck were you at the Draft Party, when DW came to the podium to announce they drafted Dale Davis. DW has never been more excited.

Peck, I have no idea why we disagree so much, we both want the same things, both like the same type of basketball
Oh I was just kidding too, I guess I should have put a in there somewhere. Today is a day for rejoicing.

Maybe both of our boys will be in the lineup for the next homestand.

Tell me the idea of Ron Artest running Paul Pierce baseline into the wall that is Dale Davis doesn't appeal to you.
If that doesn't get you going, try this one:

Reggie running Rip Hamilton baseline into the wall that is Dale Davis.

I'm not going to get overly excited until I can actually tell that he's helping the team. Hopefully that happens, we need as much help as we can get.

I'm happy for you Peck. (It's going to be realllllllly interesting around here now, especially when Dale doesn't get that many minutes in a game and we lose )

I think we all get frustrated sometimes with the moves or lack of moves by Donnie. But once again here is an example of why this small market team has remained competitive for a long time. Dale respects DW enough to swallow his pride somewhat to come back. The rifleman always considered himself a Pacer and returned. It does seem the loyalty from Donnie to current and former players pays off. I'm not saying the Ps are the only organization that has this but they have to be in that top tier.

Count me among the giddy. It's great to welcome an old friend back home.

I don't expect miracles, but I think Dale has enough left that he can help for another season or so. His physical presence alone will make the Pacers a much more difficult team to score on down low and some help on the boards will be much appreciated.

I'm so damn happy that I just gave the Indiana Pacers more money.

At 09:00 today I called my ticket agent to get my playoff & next season tickets.

I was gonna do it anyway, but I thought today was the perfect day to say thank you to them. I hope Walsh enjoys a nice fat steak with some of my money.

Have I ever told you guys that I have always been a charter memeber in the brigade?

I feel like singing, who wants to join me in an old rendition of Pacer Pride music?

Can you imagine how clear Reggie will be after running Rip off of a double screen of David and Dale.

I have a strange feeling if you are a Pollard fan you better get that autograph before the season is up. I wonder if Sacto still has a second rounder for the 2005 draft?

Dale really is a shell of the player he used to be. His shooting percentage is like 38% or something, and he really hasn't been playing much, been injured, etc.

Nevertheless, there are intangibles all over the place. One thing the Pacers lack without Ron is a tough guy, I know some guys hustle, and some guys are competitive and all that. But Dale is a tough guy, an enforcer if you will.

    Dale can

    A) Bring grit and toughness to the interior. Make guards think twice about dring down the lane.

    B) Rejuvenate Reggie. Reggie's got to be thrilled with the idea of running the baseline and seeing Dale setting a screen for him.

    I can't sleep dammit, I'm to excited!!!!!!

Ok, who gets cut? My guess is Edwards.

Donnie didn't give him a ringing endorsement to start the year anyway & I think there is some player union stuff with Curry so they will leave him alone.

Who goes on the I.R.L. ? My guess is it might be Foster if his back is really bothering him. If not it might be Gill.

I'm actually beginning to wonder if Dale won't be starting with us. I never would have thought it, but then I never would have thought he'd be back this season either.

But if Foster is gone for a few games I would not be suprised if in his second or third game back Dale didn't actually start at Center.

Then the question becomes does he go back to the bench when Foster comes back or does he stay.

That will be interesting to watch. My hope is of course that he starts, but I will be happy either way.

I just think that J.O. will be just to happy to have a warrior next to him in the frontcourt that he will beg for lots of time on the floor with Dale. Either way he still is only gonna play about 25-28 min. a game so there will still be time for Pollard, Harrison & maybe some left over for Foster

Oh man favorite. I dont know how to qualify that. One of the things that has stuck with me over the years is the game in 00 right after it was announced that he was going to be an all star and he broke his hand on a dunk.

Game #7, 1995 EC Round #2, when Dale threw away the supporting sleeve for his separated shoulder and *willed* the Pacers to victory.

Ironically, Reggie played the hero in Game #1 with his famous last-minute barrage, and DD, THE WARRIOR, was the hero in Game #7. And in-between, Rik Smits had the best playoff series of his career and one of the best playoff series that any Pacers player ever had and nobody remembers.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

eh, the only way dale would have gotten off of our bench was against Miami....I doubt Dale would have liked racking up the DNP-CDs, so I can't blame his decision.

I really like Dale, he's a good locker room guy, and he's a tough player. But we were hardly "screwed over".....Don Ried is another tough guy i think the world of. Not in Dale's class, but still a guy that plays the same role.

Somehow I think we'll manage to barely eeek out wins without Dale davis....

At least the cockiness is back at PD, I was beginning to get worried......

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.
