    Default RFA'S

How long do teams have to pursue RFA's?

The reason I ask this is because of the Eric Bledsoe situation. Phoenix made the necessary $4.7 million offer to make him an RFA. How long do other teams have to pursue him and how long before that $4.7 kicks in for his salary for 2014-15?

In my opinion, when the Bledsoe situation is resolved, Phoenix will be moving one of their PG's. I don't think the Pacers have anything they would want, however, a three team trade may be possible.

There is an October 1 deadline to accept the qualifying offer. Past that the offer expires but the player continues to be a restricted free agent.

Phoenix and Indiana are bad trade partners IMO. There would certainly have to be a 3rd team involved.

Don't get me wrong, Bledsoe is a nice player and all, but are we overrating this dude a little? When he is healthy he is explosive and athletic, but he is injured quite a bit. Also, he is a good player, but is he great? I mean, his camp rejected a 12 million dollar per year offer without blinking. Is Bledsoe really worth upwards of 12 million bucks?

Nobody is overrating him. Not one nba team has offered him the max contract he's asking for.

He and his camp are way overrating his abilities IMO. That was my point.

Thats unusual for an agent and high profile player?

He'll lower his demand and eventually sign with somebody. This happens every year.

Is it unusual to want more than teams are willing to pay? No.

Is it unusual for the sides to be 32 million dollars apart? I would say so.

If you bring him back you risk having a disgruntled player which could kill team chemistry. That has happened many times before by the way. If I was Phoenix I would certainly be looking to sign and trade, especially with their personnel at PG.

And I'm sure Bledsoe would be just fine with that. He wants to get paid. If another team wants to give him more than the suns feel he's worth, so be it.

And the only way he's back with the suns is if they agree on a new long term contract. He's not going to be disgruntled.

    Jury rigged trade:

    Boston+Indy+Phoenix

    Indy trades West+Copeland+future 1st
Boston trades Jared Sullinger and Jeff Green
Phoenix trades Goran Dragic+Morris Twins+ rights to Bogdan Bogdanovic, Archie Goodwin, future 1st

Indy acquires Morris twins and Dragic
Boston acquires rights to Bogdan, Phoenix future 1st, and Goodwin
Phoenix acquires Copeland, West, Green, Indy future 1st, Sullinger

Only using this example since all three teams were talking about a trade a few weeks ago. But now with Phoenix having I. Thomas, the pieces would have to change. In this scenario, Copeland and Green replace the Morris Twins. Who need extensions next Summer, along with Gerald Green and Goran. Will be very expensive and hectic for the Suns to get all of them done. Might as well cash in and get some BIGS which they need. West gives them a vet, leadership, low-post scoring, and toughness. Sullinger gives them another big who can score inside and out.

Indy gets back to contender status by adding a true point, who can also score. And the Morris Twins - one replaces West as a starter. The other comes off the bench taking Copeland's slot.

Boston unloads Green's contract and gets back some good young talent in BB, and Goodwin. Plus another pick. They have Zeller, Olynyk, and Sullinger. So moving Jared would make sense. But I am assuming that Jared would be the one BIG Phoenix would want. Since Zeller just got to Boston and Olynyk is a finesse big. Really not a post player.
If Phx front office suddenly dips to a third grade IQ maybe.

They have a lot of people up for extensions next Summer. Hedge a bet on that plus, they need a low post threat of some kind. West, Sullinger, Copeland, and a future 1st is a good return for 3 players who could just walk out of there next Summer. Especially if Bledsoe gets the $$$$ he's asking for.
