Maybe you're right, but there's a line of thinking that 2 years $20m would have drawn Lance away. Just surprised that what is effectively 2 years $18m apparently did the trick.
Candice from indystar has an article up. Lance would often lobby the pacers official scorer for stats. Maybe that is common, but if I am a teammate that rubs me the wrong way
Stupid move by Lance. I hope we can do a sign and trade so we get some value for him
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.
Cool story bro: I dreamed we lost Lance last night, but it was okay because we signed Brad Miller.
I always thought he'd be a Hornet but I expected him to get paid more than this.
I forgot to account for his dumbass agent.
"I had to take her down like Chris Brown."
Thanks for the very entertaining memories Lance, you brought lots of fun and
excitement while here.
While a little dissapointing, this move is understandable for a couple previously
stated reasons ($$$), so going to try to not cry about this for too long.
Lets see what the team can do to turn this into a positive.
Good luck and good riddance
Counting down the days untill DJ Augustin's contract expires.
I'm interested to see what kind of numbers Lance puts up in CHA next to Kemba and MKG. He obviously thinks he will be able to put himself in a good position to make more money in two yrs. BIG gamble there, but the guy definitely has confidence in himself.
For those saying he will struggle without our support system--I actually don't think he will have many issues outside of his silly antics on the court. But MJ can probably live with that. I'm more interested how he will fare with defenses keyed on him more than they ever were here in IND.
I wonder what, if anything, Bird does from here.
There's more to this story. Has to be. Our offer was off the table or reduced. There's no way he took that offer over our original one.
Wow. Definitely surprised he took that offer. However, its kind of like breaking up with that girl that you know you shouldn't be with. After its actually done, you feel a lot better. My gut feeling is he had some teammates (BAMF, and Roy) telling him to cool it with his antics. Good luck Lance. I actually worry about him now without Larry and Clark in his ear.
Here's to this turning Roy around now.
What. An. Idiot.
Wow I'm shocked. Never thought he was THIS selfish. Roy was right...there was a selfish dude on this team. And I'm glad he's gone. Good riddens. Good luck on a bottom feeder team Lance. Idiot.
Good contract for Charlotte. It's basically what I would have wished for if he stayed here. That team option blows me away. You should be able to keep him on a short leash with that part of it, imo.
How many games has CJ Miles started in his career? I thought he started on some good Utah team, I could be mistaken.
Chemistry wise, I really had doubts this phase of Lances career was going to work here. He'll be entertaining in Charlotte though, not sure how substantive though.
I've been a huge Lance fan for a while. I was long prepared for him to get a better offer than the Pacers gave him and wouldn't have begrudged him one bit if that had been the case. But that's not what happen. He just left $26 million guaranteed on the table. It's really hard to call that anything but stupid.
His life, he can do whatever he wants.......but he's received some pretty bad advice.
Lance is an easy riddle to me. Some people cannot handle success.
I guess we will see if he was the problem last year, too bad we don't have Danny to stick back in the starting lineup.
They already have a ballhog Pg, why would they get a ballhog SG? Makes no sense to me. It's somewhat a cheap shot from Lance but you can't blame the guy, he thinks he's Gods gift to the world and with the salary cap going higher and higher, he's bound to make a lot more in a couple years than he does on this contract, IF he keeps it together.
I'm just as mad as the next guy for him picking another team but I'm not gonna go as far to say we are better without him. He's got crazy talent and that guy is as aggressive as it gets. There will be a slight drop off from last years team to this one currently. But maybe guys like Hibbert, Hill and PG24 will step up and fill the gap.
I remember when Granger was hurt and people still held out hope that he could return to form. People used to debate whether we'd be better off with Lance or Granger in 2014-15 because everyone understood that it would have been hard to keep both of them. Kind of ironic that we ultimately won't have either of them. All of that Granger-Lance debating and now neither of them are even on the team anymore.
