Grilled up some turkey burgers and had some homemade fries. Made some homemade ranch dip as well.
Trying to do more homemade stuff.
I am drinking a Sun King. You people in Indiana don't know how good you have it!
Just finished some cabbage & 'taters.
'scuse the flatulance.
Made some nachos with ground turkey and guac tonight. Didn't make the guac myself though. Thinking of whether to kill of this final Flying Dog Blood Orange Ale tonight - it is pretty inoffensive beer but I was hoping it would be better. I am done with IPAs for awhile I think, found a grocery store that carried Spaten which will go good with whatever I BBQ next weekend.

Right now I am drinking on this new cherry lime Kool-Aid. Pretty good stuff IMO. Also finishing off last nights dinner, a tenderloin from the Lapel American Legion made by my aunt C.J. Young. They make the best tenderloins I have had around here. Made by hand by Veterans, good stuff.
Yeah you will definitely feel better, the only bad thing (in a way) is not enjoying the food you once did! I have not eaten from any of the fast food chains in like 2 or 3 years. That isn't so hard to do in DC because places like McDonald's and Burger King aren't everywhere like they are in Indiana. My metabolism hit a wall when I was 25 or so. I have always been thin but I gained like 25 pounds. I was able to work it off through hours on the exercise bike (I have bad knees from running a lot when I was younger and never stretching) and eating healthy in 6 months. But ever since my body has developed a hatred for fast food. My wife and I tried to split a Five Guys Cheeseburger on the 4th of July and it made me sick.
I am happy that I eat healthy now but wish I could enjoy something greasy and bad every once in awhile.
Man I am back to the cherry lime koolaid this morning but with some fiber one protein cereal that is like a granola cereal with some 2% milk. I am glad the koolaid is sugar free I have been tearing it up. Also had a glass of tropical mix fruit juice mixed with apple juice. We go through a lot of apple juice for my daughter's medicine so I grab a glass every now and then. Gonna try to hit the walking later this morning and see if I can avoid putting bruises on the old feet again. Changed shoes and added padded insoles. I have my lunch planned out with some homemade tuna salad on good wheat bread with some spinach salad mix and a small desert of a piece of corn bread with my wife's homemade sugar free blueberry jelly. For dinner I am gonna cook the kids favorite. Grilled chicken with a veggie stir fry. Fresh fruit and watermelon smoothies for desert.
Just had a bit of Kroger's seafood salad and some good old milk. My kind of summer comfort foods. Going to try the Kroger deli egg rolls for lunch tomorrow. I was told that they are the best.
Do you know how bad I want a tenderloin sandwich? They don't have them in the south. I didn't realize it was an Indiana thing. Probably the food I miss the most from Indiana. That and Penn Station for my baked sub fix. There's a Firehouse Subs and Quiznos and neither are as good.
And I miss Marsh's fresh made donuts. They are one of the few places that make tiger tail donuts...my fav!
My offseason FA wishlist:
Sergio Rodriguez (backup pg)
Thomas Robinson (backup pf)
Andray Blatche (starting pf - replacing West)
Corey Brewer (starting sg/sf - interchangeable w/ PG)
I got the laziness after work too tonight and grabbed a pizza king large Stromboli with extra cheese and a large beef boat extra sauce for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. In heaven right now get to eat a little of both. Still drinking down the cherry-lime kool-aid too. My wife asked where the veggies were for my dinner and I told her I think the Stromboli had some onions. She was not amused.
I have a rack of St. Louis ribs on the grill.
I have recently found that fountain Coke Zero mixed with vanilla flavoring is absolutely delicious. You soda lovers should give it a try.
I made a traditional poor folk comfort food meal today with cube steak cooked in a crock pot with cans of golden mushroom soup, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese (I know 2 starches), and green beans. For dessert we had something called Robert Redford. It starts with a graham cracker crust, a cream cheese mixture layer, chocolate pudding layer, whipped creamy layer with shaved chocolate on top. Straight up Anderson Indiana dinner there.
After the week I've had, I'm having a nice tall glass of 1792 with a dash of 7-Up.
Went cheap tonight with a little ceaser's pizza deep dish with three meat and drinking some good old home made sweet tea. Had to make up for the other night went to the new Mexican restraunt downtown Anderson for the wife's birthday. I was impressed with their special in house fajita mix that had chicken steak shrimp and sausage mixed. I was impressed with the shrimp in it I got a dozen shrimp with no fishy taste whatsoever. After dinner tonight gonna finish it off with a few spiced rum and cokes
Tonight I am eating on some Domino's Pizza chicken BBQ with bacon set-up, leftover Texas Roadhouse Chili with Jalapeno, Texas Roadhouse jalapeno poppers and drinking and ice cold Guinness or a few. I will be paying for it tomorrow but it is so good.
