Oh and random topic, look at all the offers out there for Evan Turner... /green...he's got to be pissed off at that trade, he was looking at probably the MLE at worst if not more, and now he's probably going to have to do a DJ Augestin and take a 1 year deal somewhere.
That's his own fault. If he hadn't been a selfish chucker and a even ****tier defender, then he wouldn't be in this situation.

Honestly, if we ran Copeland at the 4 and Allen at the 5 off the bench, I'd be excited. Copeland has more foot speed defensively and gives us better floor spacing offensively. I think Allen does most everything better then Mahimi except for rim protection. Yes, I know the sage Vogel thinks differently, but he has never field a bench worth a **** so, maybe he just doesn't utilize players to their strengths? Hopefully, we'll see.

I hope we signed Lavoy in time to bolster that summer league frontcourt.

I really like this signing, big Lavoy Allen supporter. He needs playing time though.

I think this is a sign Scola is definitely on his way out. We got West, Cope, Rudez and Allen who can all play the 4 spot.

I just hope we can score something of value in a deal for him. I like Louis a lot and it would be a shame not to get something for him.

Rudež is not a PF. I wouldn't include him in that group.

In any case, I think that the consensus of this forum was that Allen would be re-signed on the cheap so I'm not surprised by that.
Not surprised, but most certainly pleased by it .

Copeland is just as slow as scola, otherwise he could guard threes, and don't know much about Allen, he has only played a few games.

That's not necessarily true. There is a major gap between Scola level speed (issues guarding semi-athletic bigs) and wing level speed. Copeland is quicker than Scola

Need a major upgrade over Scola/Mahimi off the bench. Scola, even when he's on fire shooting the ball doesn't rebound well and is a major liability defensively. Mahimi, even when he plays defense well gets the other team into the penalty wise ease(PER36 over 6 FPG) and is essentially making it 4 on 5 when we're on offense.

LaVoy is 6'9. He can play center. Backup center. A typical NBA center is 6'9 or taller. I think he'll be back up. Copeland at backup 4, Rudez at back up 3.

I don't get it... Scola or Mahinmi have to be gone... just makes no sense to clog our bench with reserves when we are so thin at the 1 and 2
Having 5 big men isn't unusual. What would happen if Scola or Mahinmi went down? This is perfectly normal. Its like having 3 PG's (ie. Hill, Watson, Sloan)

Copeland added muscle in the off-season during workouts with Tyson Chandler, so he could expand to a post game during his time in Indy. That's why he was a bit slower than he was in New York. It'll be interesting to see if he drops that muscle in the off season or keeps it.

I'd trade Ian and Scola to be on the safe side. Both are lacking, and Vogel might be stupid enough to play them. Besides, we signed that Whittington kid. He's gonna be back up-back up 4.

As long as we brought him back for dirt cheap I am ok with the signing. I think if the coaching staff had any type of confidence in his abilities he would have seen a little more court time last season when we were slumping.

it's unusual if you have 1 SG

Why does everyone say one of these players are gone. Teams can keep 15 players.

All I can say is that Bird must have had a talk with Frank about playing time and rotations.

By my count we have 4 SGs on this team. Hill, Hill, Miles, and George.

Yeah, but the only problem is that two of the four you named are starters at a position not labeled SG. Do you really want Miles or S. Hill starting at SG?

I would be perfectly ok with it. Not everyone in the starting line-up needs to be an all-star.

If this is a one year contract, and it looks like it is, Allen will have the right to veto any trade this season.

If they're bringing Rudez over on the deal they gave him he will be back up 3. He's been signed for 3 years. And he's already a better player than Solo. He has a specialty. Solo doesn't.

I like Lavoy as a fifth big or even at backup PF if we need to part with Scola. What I don't like is our wing rotation if we let Lance walk. This talk about Rudez or Hill getting penciled in as key contributors next season make me want to break something.

Sounds good in theory, but I think I'll wait to see how each does on the court this year before determining who's the better fit for the 2014-15 season at that spot. The reality is that nobody knows how Rudez will transition to the NBA nor how Solomon Hill will do in his second season with the team.

how in the hell can you even say this? Did you even know who Rudez was two weeks ago? Solo barely played in his rookie season. Saying that is just ridiculous.

And I'd say Vogel calling Solo an elite defender is him having a specialty.
