Here's the most important thing from his Twitter feed:

    Lang Greene @LangGreene · 1h

Preserve cap space. Active at trade deadline "@ATLHawksPhil: @LangGreene What do you think is next for Hawks? Standing pat? Lance? Trade?"

    Just reel him in Larry.....

I get that Atlanta's got a ton of cap space and a need at the wing to fill, but Lance just doesn't seem like a Danny Ferry guy. At ALL.

Yeah, if the Hawks want to build Spurs East, I'm not sure Lance is their guy; and that's coming from a Lance supporter.

He would be great at Slash and Kick, I don't see why not? He would be like Manu Ginobli, just more annoying and crazy.

Anyone seen Lance's latest instagram post?

It translated as: "I know I've played like a douchebag in the past, but somebody gotta pay me."

You could go both ways on what he is trying to say... I don't know which one he means though

If that was a "tough love" offer, I want some of that.

Honestly, I have patience but I want this thing to end now...

What has our world come to when a poor kid from the ghetto in Coney Island who screws up multiple
times in high school and college and then screws up again after getting to the NBA only earns
$50 million before his 28th birthday.

"The Man" is keepin' Lance down...it's a travesty!!

I'm convinced no other team will offer more than 45 million. I also don't think it would be wise to gamble on a shorter contract/higher dollar deal. I don't know whats taking so long

I would consider offering 3 years, 26 million, player option after year 2. If he earns it we can pay him. Maybe he'll bite.

If we can get him back on the 5/44 deal we've still got work to do to shed salary, we really can't afford to raise the year one figure. Length is our friend right now. There's also been no reason to do so that we've heard about.

Can't we offer 3 years 26.46m with the same first year(7.35m)? Its also the only way to give him a players option after year 2, when we will have money.

we could, but that's bad, and honestly kinda dirty, business in my book, even w/o my pro-Lance bias. I think the "Lance can't find a market, he'll be disgruntled" stuff is overblown but that's how you **** a guy off.

I meant to offer it as an option, along with 5/44. Its only disrespectful if you pull the current offer.

that's fair I suppose, I just don't see the point of it. if you're willing to invest the same money for 3 years then you offer 5 because you clearly want the guy. we're seeing what Lance's apparent market is, it doesn't seem to be a scenario where he wants to get paid now while still being able to get a bigger deal sooner than later.

besides, and this is where my bias does come in, if you want the guy and the money's the same you lock him up as long as possible.

From the Pacers side, I agree.

Lance may have 0 interest in this idea. However, if 7.35M is really the most we can afford this year, it's how he has the chance to make the most money in the next 5-7 years.

    *bad math

How about offer him nothing and let him ruin another team's chemistry. I wouldn't be surprised if this team actually does better without him.

It is, but from the franchise's perspective, where we're all coming from, I just don't see the point of it. You don't let him get paid AND get out early to get paid again. Not as it stands right now anyway, it honestly seems like we have zero competition from the rest of the league. The only competition is from Lance and his camp hoping/wishing they can get more (and there's nothing wrong with that), far as we know anyway. Lance is going to wait it out for awhile, another week or so I think, and then sign the 5/44 deal.

    And then we're dumping salary.

Feel free to back that up with anything remotely factual.

I think that Dallas is out of the picture.....so we're looking at Charlotte, Lakers and ATL?

What's the current projected Cap situation for the remaining Teams of interest?
