He's covering his face because some stranger is blatantly taking a picture of him at the airport.

lol he looks like he's been crying. He probably just got off the phone with his agent.
Camera caught him at an awkward moment.

He is either probably just wiping something out of his eye, wiping his brow, or quite frankly just trying to cover his face when he sees some random dude trying to take his picture.

Lance is actually an extremely shy person when he's not playing basketball.

Lance is going to have to rescue some puppies if he is going to convince people that he is a team player and not a weirdo.

Not surprising in the least. Athletes, Actors and folks who "perform" for audiences for a living often times do tend to be very, VERY different personalities once they step outside of that workplace.

I know I certainly am different when on stage or in a recording booth than I am at the mall, for example. Lol.

All he's got to do is play the way he did in the first half of last season for the rest of his career in order to convince people he's a team player. (You know..when he actually played like a team player.)

Speaking or weirdo....remember a couple years ago when Lance would routinely get badly hurt during games and flop around on the floor and not get back on defense and then be magically healed just a few minutes later? This happened way too many times. Just bizarre. I think Lance craves attention and will do anything to get it. Whether it be a bad thing or good.(standing by himself when he's not in the game anyone?)

Same here. I am a reserved person in some situations, but totally energetic and showy when I am on stage.

My point was what he had to show some normalcy so that teams would be interested in signing him this summer.

Lance was "born dumb" if he thinks the Pacers are going to give him any more money. Just my opinion.

He had every right ti gauge his market. If there isn't much of one he'll take our offer and we likely have a steal for the next 5 years to build our franchise around. Lance could potentially be a top 2 or 3 2 guard in the NBA 9 million per for us would be a hell of a get.

However, the Pacers’ offer is now even less than what they offered originally.
To make matters worse for Stephenson, the number of teams with the cap space needed to offer him the contract he desires is dwindling by the minute.

So we have lowered our offer to Lance?
I'm surprised to not see more chatter about this tonight.

I've been presuming up to this point that we'd have trades in place to deal with this:

    http://data.shamsports.com/content/p...ies/pacers.jsp

...which essentially shows that as of today, we're ~74m deep with 14 players.

But if OTOH, we've decided to lower our offer... then that says volumes about how much we value Lance as part of our future.

I'm hoping that this reporter is making presumptions and hasn't heard this directly from a source.

I'd really like to see Lance back.

Why would Lance be in any hurry? He knows the Pacers aren't taking their offer off the table. Until he's heard final offers from Charlotte, Atlanta, and everybody else with some money left to spend, he should be be willing to wait them out as well.
According to one reporter today, the Pacers have in fact taken their original offer off the table. So his lack of commitment has actually cost him some $. Who knows whether the reporter knows what he's talking about.

I always thought the timing of the CJ Miles signing was interesting given the ambiguity around Lance.

Starting to think that Miles is our guy going forward at the 2, unless we have a significant trade or two in the bag.

Apparently, Lang Greene's meaning of lowered their bid means something entirely different from what everyone's elses meaning of the phrase:

    Pierre ‏@pwee31 10h

So @LangGreene of @BBallInsiders reported that the Pacers have lowered their offer to Lance Stephenson.....

@LangGreene @BBallInsiders You stated the Pacers offer was less than what they offered originally? Are we stating now $44mil was 2nd offer?

Exactly, I have some hesitancies and issues with Lance, but him seeing what other teams are willing to pay for him is not one of them. Players have a limited time to make money, so they should try and get as much as they can. If Lance's value was deemed higher, than maybe the Pacers offer more, or maybe he makes the decision that the pacers are still the better fit..or perhaps he does go to where he'll make more money. Regardless, after having a very good statistical year, he had every right to test the market.

He tested the market and found out there wasn't a market. Really hope he takes a long look in the mirror after this FA period.

Not really, maybe you've had different experiences with him, but every interaction I've had with Lance outside of watching him play basketball I would classify him as a shy person.

This. Even when he hit PTO for what would have been opening night during the lockout, the dude is absolutely shy. From my understanding, the fans there (and his family) had to coax him into opening up and having fun with them. Even when he went down to Bloomington with PG and George a couple of years ago for the G2 thing before the football game, he was shy down there too.
