Default Eastern Conference to Surpass the Western Conference?

I was just thinking about this today with CWebb coming to Philly - is the Eastern Conference gradually becoming more powerful than the Western Conference? One could say so with Shaq coming over, and now CWebb presents a good arguement as well. I am not talking about a sudden change, but I am wondering if this will happen in the next few years. Personally, I think it is a possibility. Besides; the East won a championship last year, and I believe that an Eastern Conference team will probably win it this year as well (with the only real challenge being the Spurs IMO). Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think the West is still probably deeper, but the East is getting there. I am just glad the East is the East now (.500 teams can make the playoffs)
