Receiver Derrick Mason and cornerback Samari Rolle were among six players released Monday by the Tennessee Titans in an effort to cut up to $27 million to get under the NFL salary cap.
In addition to Mason and Rolle, the Titans released starting defensive lineman Kevin Carter and right tackle Fred Miller. They also cut fullback Robert Holcombe and kicker Joe Nedney.
it sounds like they just got bored and released people at random...
Yeah that and that we had 27 million that we had to come up with and its kind of hard to come up with those 27 million when Mason and Rolle dont want to cut their salary and take a bigger bonus. Its only a matter of time before the Colts get in cap hell also and have to cut players every year. This was the smart thing to do all those guy where old, we could win the super bowl with them, might as well try to win it with out them. I think we are going to suck for 1 or 2 years until we build up another good core of players to start being competitive in the NFL again. Thats how it is with the Salary cap now, you are built to be good for a few years then you have to suck for a few thats just how it is.
