Default The NBA needs to move the three-point line back

This season has really soured me on the three-pointer. It seems like almost any scrub can hit them routinely now.

In the corner, you would be standing OOB.

I want a Rock'n'Jock 25 point spot. Reggie used to kill that.

Why? Just because you don't like other teams have players that can shoot?

The three-pointer was supposed to be a special shot. It isn't special anymore.

it was special 20 years ago. teams and players adapted and realized it's a really efficient shot. brick em? cool, more long rebounds.

If they make a change they need to make the floor wider so that the corner three is the same length as the three at the top of the key.

I'm okay with the 3pt line as long as we frickin defend against them.

And I don't get this at all. We were tops in the league at defending 3s at one point in time.

Move it back far enough that Copeland can shoot them from the bench.

Get rid of the corner shot. Just leave the circle where it is and let the 3 pt line intersect the sidelines.

I find this thread hilarious considering that is what has been killing the Pacers. If the Pacers were killing opponents with the three ball this thread wouldn't exist. I'm fine where the line is. It's the college line they need to move back. I used to hit top of the key jumpers all day long.

And you know what? We're still #3 in the league at guarding the 3 point shot -> http://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat...hree-point-pct

We were #1 last season (by a 0.5% margin -> http://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat...ate=2013-06-20 ) and we were #3 for this season.

I sincerely cannot understand why it has been such a thorn in our sides lately considering that we were pretty darn good at guarding this shot for 1 and a half year.

I used to love watching Reggie hit 3's. I remember the excitement of watching him come off a screen and Boom Baby! But I think I'm with Shade now, especially after watching game 5 vs the Hawks. I'm tired of watching guys hit 3's lol.

They'll have to move it back eventually after every team starts shooting thirty threes a game. Mathematically it's just too valuable not to shoot a ton from three. It'll take a few years though.

While at it please make mid range jumpers worth 1 point since Millsap and Nene gets it too easy.

Yes, it was Nene's 6 baskets that killed us tonight. It wasn't Ariza's 6 3s or Gooden's 7 offensive rebounds.

I would be totally in favor of moving the line back, but the pacers have gotten burned so much from the perimeter because of bad defense, not necessarily uncanny shooting.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

And to echo everyone here, if this was 2000 when the pacers could send 5 three point shooters out at one time and bombed the crap out of the rest of the nba, this thread would not exist.

and how long will it take for those "scrubs" who get paid to practice and do what they do on a regular basis to adjust to the new line? if a miracle happens and they move the line will you open another thread like this in couple of years? how far should the line be moved back for those "scrubs" to not be able to hit 3's routinely?

i know we are frustrated about this team right now and looking for answers or solutions to ease our pain. but saying three point line is too close just becasue we can't defend it. i don't know what to say without offending you. which i don't want to.

I love the NBA game the way it is now. I don't like the way the Pacers are playing it, but I love the game.
