Watching that video and comparing to this season I would say that his legs were dead and so his footwork went to hell. It appears he had no lift remaining....too many minutes? Too much weight??? Hopefully the staff realizes this and makes amends this season and with a slimmed down Roy we will see the ability he showed in teh Miami series two years ago.

When did the George Hill sucks perception start? Hill averaged 14.2 ppg and 4.7 apg 2 years ago, George Hill can play which is why I don't understand posts like these at all. CJ Miles isn't bad either, I take it you didn't see much of Miles at all. The guy averaged 10 ppg in 19 mpg last season, give him a chance.

We made it to the ECF 2 years ago with Lance as a 5th option who didn't even averaged 9 ppg....
I also think people are underestimating Rodney Stuckey.

I think he is similar to Bobby Murcer. The Yankees had a string of HOF outfielders, Ruth, Dimaggio, Mantle and then Murcer came along. He was supposed to be the next Mickey Mantle. That didn't pan out, but he still had a pretty good career. He played 17 seasons, made 5 all-star games, had 90 or more RBI 5 times plus 88 one year and 89 another. He led the league in runs scored one year and OBP one year. He had 252 career HRs and over 1,000 RBI. A pretty solid career but of course it pales in comparison to Mantle.

I think Stuckey is a pretty good player, no he is not an all-star or another Chauncy Billups or DWade as he was compared to out of college. He was not in a very good situation in Detroit, but now that he is in a better situation and does not have to be the first or second option on the team, I think he can be a pretty good player.

I always thought Stuckey was a good player for Detroit at least early in his career and then he seemed to lose interest or drive. Hope we get the early career Stuckey. He has athletic talent for sure.

He's saying all of the right things so far. My problem with him is he shoots the three worse than Turner did.

Honestly, we dont need him to shoot the three well. I cant envision a single point in the game where Stuckey wont be on the floor with atleast two quality shooters. His job will be to penetrate, create, and get to the line.

    3) Stay confident - Hopefully Kareem is helping him out with this.
I think this should be all 3 keys, myself.

Kareem was never really an in-your-face arrogant guy, at least that I remember. Does anyone know if he ever had confidence issues coming out of UCLA?

He also knows his limits and doesn't shoot them very often. We've honestly been in need of a guy that can get to the rim and draw fouls since Danny was injured. That's one of the things Stuckey does quite well. As long as he's on the floor with guys like Watson, Miles, Hill, and George - he should be in good shape. I'm kind of interested to see him run the pick and pop game with West, as Stuckey should add a completely different dynamic to that play and to our offense with his mid range game. Most of our guys are either shooting the 3, or are getting to the rim but lack that "in-between game". I think Stuckey can add that.

Last year Lance (by most accounts our most creative offensive player) had 396 shots at the rim, and shot an elite fg% of .684. But he lacked a mid range game and shot 31% on shots from 10-16ft. Stuckey, though not a 3pt shooter, shot 41% on those same mid range FGA's, and was still able to shoot a high percentage at the rim with a clip of 65%. He also earned 4FTA/gm in just 25 Minutes.

For comparison sake, a guy like Russel Westbrook shoots 58% at the rim, and 41% from the mid range area. Obviously Stuckey isn't Westbrook (lol) but it gives you an idea of where his points come from and where he's effective on the floor.

Kareem had a chip on his shoulder. He was a huge fan of Wilt coming out of college and once they started competing they developed an intense dislike for each other. That was probably more on Wilt though as he was a total *** to pretty much everyone.

Agreed. Not everyone has to be a damn sharpshooter.

That sounds good. I know he has decent assist numbers. And I am a firm believer that any player CAN play defense to at least an average level. So, I'm holding hope that Stuckey, although not someone I would have chosen, is going to be good for the team. Hey, Bird must know more than I do about running a team. He's doing it and I am doing what I do.

That's an unfair way to put it, don't you think? I mean, Charlotte wanted to keep him - Michael Jordan himself said the success of the team would depend on how well McRoberts could "connect the dots" and worried about him opting out of his contract - but then they got outbid by Miami. He and Coach Clifford apparently had a good relationship too.

He also went from L.A. to Orlando in the Dwight Howard trade, so you really can't say the Lakers didn't want him as much as they wanted Dwight.

Why would Charlotte get out bidded on retaining McBob when they had PLENTY of cap to spend? They also drafted the IU kid, Vonleh, who is suppose to be highly talented, and they already had another IU player in Cody Zeller.

Allow me to refresh your memory. Yes, McBob got traded in the D Howard trade to Orlando, but he wasn't playing in LA. He started then went to the bench and LA went out and got "Jordan Hill" to replace him. Both McBob and Murphy were Lakers and weren't "getting much PT". Back then, I posted everyday former Pacer players daily game stats and both at times were getting DNP-CD.

I truly thought McBob had finally found a home in Charlotte, and was happy for him. I hope his game can continue in Miami for him.

This is mainly for our European Pacer fans.

I was watching the tour this morning and caught a quick glimpse of a Jasikevicius Pacer jersey on the side of the road.

He needs lots of rest during the regular season. Play your other players coach.
Someone needs to rent a billboard close to BLF so Vogel has to read this everyday going to work!

Grizz hiring Jeff Bzdelik as an assistant. For some reason, he sucks.
Wow, this is a pretty big shocker considering how things went with him in charge at Denver and Wake Forest. Maybe he will be a player development guy or something of that sorts, but his X's and O's left much to be desired.

I think you are missing the point, if he is playing with the starting group, and PG as he has said is focusing on getting to the rim more often and having a low post game, then the only guy he will be able to kick it out to that has a kind of decent chance of taking advantage of open 3pt opportunities is Hill. This is the reason... Of course he will be driving, but he is not going to have the ball in his hands all of the time, and will play more of a role player game in some situations. Got me?

WHO CARES! I'm not wanting a O'Brien team of nothing but 3 pt shooters. If a guy can't shoot 3's, the Pacers don't need him attitude here seems to be too prevalent anymore. There are plenty of players on this team that can shoot the 3, but not that many that can drive to the rim and score. I want scorers that can get baskets, and not watch 20-30 3pt shots per game.

Paul keeps tweeting "Trece" so I think he's changing his number to 13. That's gonna suck for the brand new jersey I got in June lol.

Sounds good to me. I'm hopeful he works out. I'm impressed that he signed for the money he did.
