A vegas summer league game ended in sudden death.
Here's a story about it.
And still the Pacer's do little. It's getting a bit frustrating.
What exactly should we do? Trade Hibbert for pennies on the dollar? Trade away an asset or take back a bad contract just to move George Hill? Trade Paul George or David West?
I am not just referring to you, but I don't get what some people want Larry Bird to do. I mean look at the Knicks. They make wholesale changes regularly, how is that working out? The Nets had huge wholesale changes last off season, again, how is that going?
After the Spurs lost to Memphis in the first round did they overreact?
My point is lets focus on being "smart" not "active". Given what is most likely on the table staying put and adding guys like Miles is smart.
Larry made his bed with these starters and with the big contracts they have and the way they melted down last year, there is very little he can do right now. He has to ride these starters for better or for worse. That should make everybody a little nervous though considering what we witnessed the last few months of last season.
The contracts that we've given out in recent years don't look too bad when you look at some of the insane contracts that have been handed out this off-season.
Based on recent history, when things are quiet, there is a good chance Larry is working on a deal.
The mid season trade came out of nowhere, the Scola deal was a surprise as well as the GHill deal.
Hill's gone period. Not sure about Roy, although one can hope. But when you listen and read what Larry has said so far this off-season about the point guard position. There's no room to add a new point guard, and keep Hill. He's gone, just a matter of time and for whom. Roy is a bit more murky.
I just don't see, barring a trade that brings us a PG, how Lance isn't a Pacer this next season. Even if we have to pay him 10-11 million a season. Bird went and signed another stretch 4 in Rudez. So that makes Copeland expendable, or that makes Scola expendable. Keeping Scola or Copeland over Lance makes us a stronger team? NOPE!
You can't get champagne from a garden hose.
As the Bulls keep clearing space, I'm told they'll send Anthony Randolph and two second rounders to Orlando. Randolph expected to be waived.— Sam Amick (@sam_amick) July 14, 2014

SMU coach Larry Brown has told associates within basketball industry today that he expects Mudiay to leave SMU, sources tell Yahoo.
Number one, spelling errors aside, is anyone really shocked by this?
Number two, the Lakers are still looking for a head coach........

I actually would agree with that, I just don't think it's gonna hurt them much in the win column.
However, considering they could've had Parsons on the cheap, still traded and Asik for the first rounder, dumped Lin, and then signed a player for around what they are gonna pay Ariza I see what you're saying......we will see what happens.

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!).
I'm (maybe) back after being repetedly banned, merely for supporting a different NFL team than do certain forum moderators.
There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.
