RT @WojYahooNBA: Houston will not match the $46M Dallas offer sheet for Chandler Parsons, league source tells Yahoo Sports.

    Come home, Lance

Usually think you're a pretty cool dude and have no idea if your offer would have been enticing enough to lure lance away from us but that being said SUCK IT CUBAN!

Lance just needs to take our deal. 5/44 and lots of wins is nothing to scoff at. If he plays well through this contract he will get paid very well next time. He will still only be 28.

If I were Lance (or his agent), I think I would try to work out a 2 year deal with the Pacers.

2 years, around 7-8 million per year. That would give Lance another 2 years to mature. If he does that, with more TV money available, he could have a good shot at 15 million per year.

I think Lance's agent was a former player and coach for the Washington Generals.

It's looking like the Pacers are Lance's best/only offer at this point.

Their failure is our gain. I can't believe we might actually get to keep Lance for around 8 - 9 million which even a good chunk of the naysayers around here thought was more than fair

so say Lance gives up and signs back with us, what does our cap situation look like are we pretty much done and over with for the offseason? or is there still something left in the money box to throw at someone on the cheap?

we have nothing left to spend but the minimum regardless of what happens with Lance. anything significant would have to be trades.

Don't we have his bird rights though? That allow us to sign him without going into the tax?

    Grimp Grimp Grimp....(shakes head)

It allows us to sign him since we are over the cap, but it in no way stops us from going over the tax

Unless Michael Jordan wants to overpay for him, welcome home Lance

Lance's agent had to dropping F bombs left and right after hearing the Parson's news.

Don't we still hold Turner's Bird rights?

If we get him for the proposed deal we have to shed about $5 million to get under the luxury tax. I'm thinking two of Ian/Scola/Cope are gone.

Yes we do, so if we do lose Lance, we can still sign Turner. That should be Plan Z though, haha.

Anyway it's good news for us that Dallas is out of the running, but it ain't over until Lance signs on the dotted line. Atlanta is still sitting on a ton of cap space for example and could well try to sign Lance as a trade asset even if they don't intend to keep him.

Herb Simon has said in the last few months that he is not 100% opposed to going into the luxury tax for a year or two (I think it was in the IBJ interview after the deal with the CIB went through).....

Lakers renounced their rights to Mitch Richmond, Karl Malone, Brian Shaw, and Ron Harper among others. that's how long it's been since they had cap space lol.

That's Scola. You can trade him easy. I could also see Scola or Ian accompanying whomever the critical piece happens to be, in any trade for a point guard.
