We don't need him. I would rather have Miles start instead of Pierce, Miles is a much better fit for us offensively, and less money. Not to mention one is 36 and one is 27.

There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

I mean at absolute WORST they erased a bit of leverage from Dragic's camp when it comes time to re-up and have an in house replacement on a really strong contract to take over if need be
Dragic is going to get paid next season......as much as Bledsoe will.....probably closer to the tune of $11 to 12 mil a year ( if not more ). I can totally see the Suns realizing this and are going to see what they can get for him. I'm guessing a comparable Starter....or a 1st+Expiring+prospect type deal....would be good value for him.

Dallas is the team I am most afraid of in regards to Stephenson... Houston you already have Ariza! Don't match Parsons!

Experience... he wouldn't have to always play up to that level.

We need to be more athletic. West, Hibbert, and Scola are already too many slow players

We'll thank god the spurs were loaded with fast athletes...

SA can get away with it. Duncan and Manu are still playing at am all-star level. Diaw gets away with being slow by his passing

Yeah Paul George is going to keep being really good. And I agree that he is the second best player in the East. I'm excited to see what he will do going into 25 years old. This is a big season for him, he has to stay a top 5 MVP guy all season to continue his trajectory. Just have to keep putting in the work. His list of accomplishments at 24 is pretty impressive. Certainly better than any NBA Pacer at the same age.

Is it a steal if nobody else was willing to pay him as much?
So since Phoenix is the top bidder for Isaiah Thomas, that means his contract is not a steal?

By your definition market price is always correct, and I don't think that's true.

The real point is, will Lance outperform other players getting paid $8m? If yes, then his contract is a steal.

Yeah. After seeing Rick Bonnell repeatedly state that CHA still has no interest in Lance, I'm inclined to rule them out. Dallas seems the only credible suitor left, barring Atlanta coming out of left field.

Supposedly Mavs are crafting a high dollar short term deal, as opposed to our relatively low, 5 year offer. Hope Lance likes security!

The Pacers offer will be more $ than anything the Mavs can offer short term. We'll see if that makes a difference.

Compared to the Pacers, they are fast. With Hibbert and West you have two of the starting five who are incredible plodders. The Pacers could not run the offense that the Spurs do or at least not nearly as effectively. They need to try but one of those two would need to be sitting and replaced with a competent offensively player. Roy needs to lose weight and become more mobile. His weight gain was a disaster this past year.
Tim Duncan is skinny relative to Hibbert and he is incredibly effective even at his age.

The point is you don't have to be fast to win. Pierce is still a very good player. He's had a slow game his whole career. Don't be silly. .he's a great pickup at the MLE and a better player than Miles. Even Miles would tell you that.

Waiting is a gamble in free agency, but the earliest signings are almost always overpriced. Good values come to those who wait.

Outside of Watson, we have overpaid for all of our signings since the '12 offseason.

It's for the MLE. That is a great deal. Wizards are going to be real good.
That's a big drop in what he was looking to get. If he can still play at a good level, he will be Ariza's replacement.

so at about what point today will we know if the rockets end up matching parsons offer from dallas? do they have till midnight tonight or does the clock start ticking as soon as the offer sheet is delivered to houston? cause honestly i'm hoping the rockets just let the mavericks have him and we are pretty much the only other team giving lance an offer unless charlotte all of a sudden has a change of heart.

Midnight tonight I believe is the deadline. If Houston doesn't match, its pretty much over for Lance to get any real leverage on Indiana.

Yeah, his agent ruined some of the leverage by saying Lance would need a winning situation. What good teams with cap space are left?

Pierce is still a much better player than Miles. Pierce averaged 13.5 PPG on 45.1% shooting in 75 games. Miles averaged 9.9 PPG on 43.5% shooting in just 51 games. Pierce can play an old man game for a couple more years and is still much more scary than CJ Miles. Plus, he's Paul Pierce and is one of the greatest players of his era with championship experience.

Would MUCH rather have had Pierce, especially when you factor in length of contracts. Bird should have used some of that fellow Celtic charm.

The Spurs themselves aren't darting around the court like maniacs, it's the ball movement that's fast and crisp. Except for Patty Mills, of course. He is the fastest person who ever lived.
