Roy had game, even offensive game at one point, I am not worried about him gaining it in the off-season, I am worried about him keeping it up late into the season...
In addition I think they should bring in the Hulk to train against him, maybe that could make him more physical too...

This is great to read. Roy has improved so much since we drafted him but it's nice to see that he continues to strive to improve. Kareem is the perfect center for Roy to work with and he did wonders with Bynum.
It blows my mind that so many have given up on Roy and they don't think he has the ability to improve his game when he's done nothing but work hard to better himself since he stepped foot in Georgetown.
I am going to make a bold prediction. Next season will be Hibbert's best of his career.
When did the George Hill sucks perception start? Hill averaged 14.2 ppg and 4.7 apg 2 years ago, George Hill can play which is why I don't understand posts like these at all. CJ Miles isn't bad either, I take it you didn't see much of Miles at all. The guy averaged 10 ppg in 19 mpg last season, give him a chance.
We made it to the ECF 2 years ago with Lance as a 5th option who didn't even averaged 9 ppg....
I think there are three keys to Roy's success:
1) Slim down - Roy's not fast to begin with, he needs to be as quick as possible. Adding weight didn't seem to increase his strength significantly, anyway.
2) Play fewer minutes - It's on Vogel not to run the starters into the ground again, even if it means punting on a few regular season games.
3) Stay confident - Hopefully Kareem is helping him out with this.
Dallas found a problem with Rashard Lewis's knee during his physical, has to have a "procedure." His time table, and contract, aren't for certain.

Roy looks slimmer to me as well.
For point 2, Roy has never been a heavy minutes guy - he's never topped 30 mpg in his career. He played about the same minutes last year as in 2011-12 for example, when he put up career numbers. And I think the idea that Vogel runs starters to the ground is overblown. Most of our guys hover around the 30 mpg range, except for PG and Lance. It appears that way because Vogel likes to play the starting 5 for long stretches together, but our minutes distribution is quite well distributed relative to other teams. Vogel is no Thibodeau, that's for certain. (Though that may change this year - I think PG might be asked to play close to 40 mpg).
Roy doesn't want to slim down because there's no point. He's not going to get down to 250 or something and all of a sudden be some nimble guy hedging to the 3 point line and corralling ballhandlers. He can be as trim or skinny as anybody wants, he'll always be slow footed.
So he take the alternative, add bulk, contest everything at the rim, take the contact. I'm curious to see how it effects Roy when he's hitting his mid 30s, and if he's told he should slim down for the sake of his personal future then absolutely do it, but right now I don't see how him dropping weight would have a point.
He played notably worse with the added bulk. He was even more slow-footed than normal, and he was late on the offensive rebounds he used to get to
It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

I thought Roy looked notably quicker (by his standards) the season before last and notably more plodding last season.
