And now the Hornets have moved Scotty Hopson to NO. I wonder if NO wants him as a player or needs the unguaranteed contract to move in a deal.

They need him to send to Houston to make the Ariza/Asik 3 team deal work.

I have no understanding of why people keep floating the possibility of trading Ian. Without him our backup 'rim protector' is...? And we don't need a dependable backup for Roy because...?

I still think probably Cope and possibly Ian will be traded in moves if Lance comes back. I see it being more like: Watson/Miles/Hill/Scola/LaVoy with Rudez probably being the Cope replacement.
I just hope we don't leave Rudez on the bench to rot.

I'm saying..we are making no moves nor does it seem like we're even trying to attempt to keep Lance. We're in major trouble without him as we're full of players that act like they can't penetrate the paint like Lance. Miles is cool, but he's basically a bigger CJ Watson imo.

Miles is a better shooter than Watson, and we are tryin to keep Lance but Bird wasn't going over 5/44 and with Dallas out of the picture we have a good chance

The problem with Ian is his salary. There are other 'rim protectors' that could be had cheaper. Besides, if the rest of your team is playing solid defense, you should not need a 'rim protector'.

I don't know what that means....even if **** "gets real" there was nothing the Pacers do besides trading guys that most the league didn't want in Hill or Hibbert, or trade a good guy that CHOSE Indiana as a free-agent in West.

When keeping it real goes wrong...

Isn't it funny how people kept saying that the Pacers have one of the strongest starting five in the league yet our players are not trade-able.(PG aside) I hope the team realizes just what that meltdown did to overall team and player perception from the outside looking in. I've seen comments all over the internet from people not necessarily invested in the Pacers that label the players as soft and heartless. It will take a while to change people's perceptions.

The problem with the off-season every year is that everyone overreacts to other teams getting better because most things tend to look good on paper. Just because some teams may look good on paper does not mean it's going to necessarily translate into success on the basketball court. My favorite overreaction last off-season was after the Nets got Pierce and Garnett. People were acting like they were some title contender after that trade and that definitely didn't pan out that way.

Not making an attempt to keep Lance?!?!?! He is holding a contract offer in his hand from the Pacers that is bigger than anything else he has received. What should we be doing? Oh, you don't like 8. How about 9? No, 10? How about 11? Oh you want the max? Oh okay. Here you go.

Who's the real D.J. Augustin? The one who played poorly for the Pacers and Raptors, or the one who was really good with Chicago?

The Pacers historically play it close to the vest. There could be all sorts of discussions going on that are not being leaked out. Personally, I think there will be a trade or two made before the end of the month. There could even be a major trade on the way.

The person who has called them soft the most is Bird.

Maybe LB is waiting for some teams to get desperate as the FA's start signing. Supposedly IND is looking to approach Boozer once CHI gives him the amnesty. That would make for an over abundance of front court players in IND (goodbye Luis?). Personally, I think LB is looking to move Roy and get a PG and another piece in return. How and for whom, I can only speculate.

Miami's not going to me as mediocre as some people think. They already have a chemistry even without Lebron.
Good. Would just make it that much better if we kick their asses.

Only teams under the cap can bid on amnesty players.
    We aren't.

Players who are waived by amnesty are not immediately unrestricted free agents. They first must pass through a waiver-style bidding process over 48 hours.

First, teams have the opportunity to assume the player’s full contract (which never happens).

Once that process passes, teams under the salary cap have the opportunity to bid on the player. The highest bid wins, and if there are equal bids, the team with the worse record gets the player. The player may not be re-signed by the team that released him.

What if Larry has an agreement to trade Stephenson, once he signs, to the Suns as part of a package to get Dragic, but the Suns will only do it if Lance signs the 5/$44 deal. Maybe......maybe not.
