Not exactly sure, but from the highlight tapes that I have seen, he is better at putting the ball on the floor(still do not want the ball in his hands dribbling much), has good vision, and can make pretty good passes, not sure how his defensive game is yet though. Speaking of his defense, he has above average quickness for a 6'10' guy, but I am not sure I would want him playing the 3 against some of these quicker guys in the league.
    Why so SERIOUS

I would be very angry if I was PG and we signed Stuckey while letting Lance walk. It'd be a waste of his 4 years.

Yeah hard for me to empathize with Lance honestly. 8m is more than 98% of people will ever see in their ENTIRE LIFETIME.

Plus we gave him an extra year that no oneelse could have.

The difference between a starter and a bench player doesn't rely on the ability to shoot from deep. Stuckey is a good mid range shooter, but he is good at getting his own shot and at getting to the rim/FT line which is something that we need right now regardless.

Stuckey averaged more ppg than Lance in about 10 less MPG. He's a scorer, may not be a 3pt shooter but is definitely a scorer.

I think he is a good plan B personally.

So how would we get him in here? Rudez has already committed, so even if he is signed for the minimum, which for three years seems doubtful, that would leave 4 million on our MLE. Is that all Stuckey would be worth?

Why are they wasted? They had a good season last year and now they're bringing everyone back. Why not? No one knows how the top of the East will look after free agency, and with continued development from Beal and Wall, the Wiz could be right up there.

Because the sort of term and money they are throwing at Gortat and Ariza is insane.

Rudez game is more polished in terms of ball-handling. Copeland is better at getting to his spots though it seems. Only because Rudez can work off the dribble at times. Cope can't. But for a team that DESPERATELY......

Needs shooting and scoring off our bench? I'd keep both. No different from Toronto with Amir Johnson who takes 3's, and Tyler Ross who also takes 3's from the PF and SF positions.

Gortat was huge for them when Nene went down (as he always does). He's a threat for a double-double every night, and the perfect big to run pick and rolls/pops with Wall.

Ariza is one of the best wing defenders in the league and deadly from corner threes (also perfect for when Wall penetrates and kicks). He's a steals leader and a great rebounder from the wing position. $11 mil for that fit and that versatility isn't too crazy.

The concern for Gortat is the length of the deal for sure, but he doesn't rely on athleticism that much. At 34-35, he can still play his game and step out for that midrange J. Plus, it's not like his contract is unmovable.

One could make the exact same argument about the off season when we signed Hill/Hibbert to gargantuan contracts. Hadn't we just made the second round when we signed those contracts as well?

HIll and Hibbert were 25. Ariza is 29 and Gortat is 30

Man, I forgot all about them having Nene's big *** deal on the books. Screw it, let Lance walk and try and clear max money to throat at Beal next summer.

I hope not. I'd keep Copeland on age alone. Scola looks worse now than West will look when he's Scola's age.
Scola is 4 months older than West. They're the same age.

My plan B would be dangle Hibbert to OKC. They don't have to give us Reggie Jackson and Lamb if they don't want to. Just one or the other, along with Kendrick Perkins expiring contract. In reality, the deal is Roy for KP, and a young talented guard. It works salary wise. And with KP's expiring contract, we have flexibility to re-route it elsewhere for a center, or go out and sign someone like Pau Gasol. While still being able to afford Lance. We'd have to structure the contract though where Pau's money at its highest point kicks in when KP's contract comes off the books. Plus next Summer, Copeland, CJ, and Scola would all come off as well.

    West
    PG
    Pau
    Lamb
    Lance

    West
    PG
    Pau
    Lance
    Jackson
Why on earth is every move that you think the Pacers have to make is to trade Hibbert or Hill?

I get that you want both gone and understands your reason for it......you want to be more athletic in the Frontcourt.

Ignoring that you make too many assumptions ( like you normally do ) where I see such a trade as unlikely, if Lance is not re-signed....Plan B won't likely start with trading part of the core Players that Bird says that he intends to keep intact.
Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

I think Lance is an 8 figure athlete, but the thing with him is that his character brings down his value a bunch, and I think he may be getting contract offers in the range of or a little bit more than what he is getting with the Pacers, but I am thinking that he is not getting close to the amount of guaranteed money as the Pacers are offering. Interesting thing will be if we keep spending money what type of contract will Lance end up with. Could turnout to be a 4 yr 32 million dollar contract with some team, basically a Hill type contract. I think Lance could be walking on thin ice, but then again it only takes one one team right.

So long Lance. And now the plan B in Livingston is gone. There are no other MLE players out there that can help with the loss. If Hibbert continues to be a Betty White then we won't contend. At all.
Seems like a insult to Betty White.

I don't believe anyone is okay with the idea of giving Ariza that big of a contract. However for a team that has been decades without being a playoff team let alone contender for a weakish E.C. title the idea of securing a starting 5 that made it to the second round, and made it very uncomfortable for the higher seeded team, is not as outlandish as you are making it sound.

In the short term neither of those contracts hurt the Wizards IMO, they really were at the place where they just needed to keep their unit together and grow. Again IMO they have at least 2 years with the players they have right now to see what they can do.

Now does this hurt them in the long run? Maybe but the last thing the Wizards need right now is to step back and build for the future, they have done that for almost 20 years. It's time to win right now for them and the East is wide open. If we lose Lance and don't have a great plan B, which we won't, then I have no doubt that we will be the one stepping back. To me the Wizards are going to be top 4 in the East at least, but that is before any other trades or free agents shake out and none of us know how or what Rose is going to come back as.
