    Article about the deal:

    http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireSto...-team-23096180

Paul George is joining a new All-Star team.

On Friday, Gatorade will introduce the Pacers' budding star as its newest NBA spokesman in a lineup that already features prominent athletes such as Heat guard Dwyane Wade, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, tennis star Serena Williams and Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.

In a video for the ad titled "Slam," George spins away from an opponent, takes off from the free throw line and dunks the ball — with the sports drink streaming off him the whole way.

For George, it's a major breakthrough on the business side because he plays in one of the NBA's smallest television markets.

But the 23-year-old shooting guard began the transition last year after being selected to play in his first All-Star Game. He helped the Pacers push Miami to seven games in the Eastern Conference finals and was later named the league's Most Improved Player. In September, Indiana rewarded George with a five-year max contract that could pay him as much as $90 million.

Since then, George has continued to excel.

He was elected as an All-Star starter last month and entered Wednesday night's game against Miami ranked 11th in the league in scoring.

The ad's debut comes two days after George scored 23 points and had two monster dunks to help rally the Pacers (52-20) from a seven-point, fourth-quarter deficit to beat the two-time defending champion Heat 84-83. The win gave Indiana a three-game lead over Miami in the chase for the top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

And to think, it only took 3 years of Gatorade sponsoring the G2 Zone to realize that PG was marketable...

Neat spot. however the scream at the end is a joke. They should have replaced it with a Lion's roar, or something equally as fierce. his scream sounds very diminutive. I can't believe they ****ed that 2 seconds up so bad. I mean the freaking bottle has Fierce on it.

That's the first thing I thought too. For being "Fierce" that was pretty weak sounding.

All they need now is Birdman to be under the bucket to add some realism to the commercial.

Good. The more money he makes early in ads and as competitive as we can stay the better the likelihood he stays here past contract 2.

I like this new commercial better
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

Frank has that Peyton Manningesque dry sense of humor about him. I bet he would be great on Saturday Night Live, or even just hearing him speak.

The scream is a bit off.

The rest of the commercial is so good that it makes that little moment stick out like a sore thumb, unfortunately

Still, the rest of it is awesome!

    Nice.

Its a little known fact that when Frank was a video coordinator, he had a side gig as a motivational speaker. He had to stop because he was motivating his listeners too much; the people paying him to speak got tired of having to repair walls that people had run through.

The jump is so off. He obviously did not jump from the free throw line, he would have landed about 5 feet short of the rim if he did.

LOL! That story itself would make a better 20 sec commercial than the 2 posted in this thread. I could see that as some sort of mini parody ABC could run during the pregame special of the Finals if we were so fortunate to get there.

Frank Vogel the early years...average Joe's busting through walls at hotel conferences, Vogel getting kicked out the Hotel... Could end with a shot of the starting 5 running suicides with Vogel chewing them out, and they all bust through the wall in Bird's office. Legend Speaks "Not again..."

    This stuff writes itself.
