Default Pacers / Grizzles Post Game thread - 3/22

The Grizzlies outhustled and outplayed us tonight. Their bigs dominated our bigs.

You just have to respect Marc Gasol. He is an awesome player. He got injured last night but he played 39 minutes and managed to be as awesome as he always is. Tip off the hat to him and to the rest of the Grizzlies. Great win for them.
Tonight, all flags must burn, in place of steeples.
Autonomy must return into the hands of the people.

I will be very thankful when the regular season is over and there are no more back to backs. Oh and I think it's time for Mike Miller to retire.

I am really not too upset about this loss.

Don't get me wrong, I wish we would have found a way to win. But some nights the effort is there on offense and defense, you're not turning the ball over excessively, you're making mostly good decisions early on, but the ball just WILL. NOT. GO. IN. THE. BASKET.

That was us tonight. I said early on in the game thread that I was actually really happy with our ball movement and overall energy level, a continuation from the Chicago game. Unfortunately, the ball wasn't falling.

And of course, despite (mostly) good defense, the Grizzlies were just hot all night. Conley and Mike freaking Miller of all corpses, sorry I mean people, just could not miss.

Wish it had turned out differently. But I still think we're in a MUCH better spot tonight than we were 3 days ago.

Hopefully our shots will fall against the Bulls, we'll need to be efficient to win there.

Again, the Heat lose when we lose. This has got to be some kind of conspiracy. Regardless, Thank you Pelicans.

Good defense, abominable offense. Thank goodness we're in the East. Evidently, the uninspired first halves have not yet been resolved. We look like little kids whenever things don't go our way. That's not going to get us anywhere come playoff time.

Paul George has forgotten that you can score points by driving to the rim.

This was a top 3 worst officiated game of the season. PG was mugged all game, and we were not allowed to play physical at all.

The only thing that concerns me is that the Grizzlies had their way inside tonight. That's my only complaint. They dominated the rebounding battle and scored almost twice as we did inside the paint.

What's the point. PG drives, gets mugged, and never gets any whistles like other star players. PG has quit attacking, and I don't blame him. Its like PG is allowed to get hammered without fouls being called

I said this in the game thread, but I knew the Pacers were going to lose when Hibbert missed the wide open can't believe he missed that hook. That summed up the night for me.

In his last 10 games, Paul is averaging 16 pts on 32% shooting. 32%. He's 13 of his last 54.

    Yea,

I should amend my statement a bit.

Roy played very poorly on both ends. No doubt about it.

David also missed quite a few interior defensive assignments that exacerbated the whole thing.

The defense was very good and the ball movement was pretty good, as well. Just couldn't put the ball in the hole. That tends to happen on the back end of a B2B on the road against two very good defensive teams.

FWIW I am a pretty strong Hibbert defender. That said, you got worked tonight big fella. You certainly were not the only one, but you definitely got worked.

I'm not just talking about this game, which I agree was officiated horribly. Over the last month or so all he does is settle for jump shots, while earlier in the year he attacked the rim much more often. Remember when he was averaging like 28 points per game in the first two weeks or so in the season and he was included in MVP talks? That was when he was driving to the rim.

That was the rare time Roy wasn't fouled, and he wasn't used to being able to play without being bumped. He is a human bowling pin. Other players are allowed to crash into him. How is he supposed to grab rebounds
