Thread: 2014 NCAA Tournament Thread

the thing about it is I never really had a problem with Craft the player, he was always annoyingly pesky but that's fine, I couldn't be logically consistent and hate Craft while one of my favorite Purdue players ever is Chris Kramer. it was the incessant media fawning over an extremely limited player, guy started for 4 years and still can't shoot for ****. Kramer got his share of love, but nowhere near approaching Craft, and is Craft THAT much better than he was? I mean hell, next time somebody sees Dakich just go up to him and say "Aaron Craft" and watch him start drooling.

I view the Craft situation like I do the Tebow situation. I don't understand why the venom is directed at the player, instead of the media which overly-hypes them. To each their own though.

I'd bet that IU or Purdue would have taken him in an instant, and he would have been loved by the fan base.

And I just can't bring myself to get into it this year. I don't know why. I try to watch the games, and then get interested in something else. It's just felt like this year has been ho-hum talent wise.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

    Larry Bird: Yeah, patience.

Then why direct the hate at Craft and not the ones over-hyping him?

Because the ones over-hyping him aren't the ones abusing our teams on the court.

Factor in that all neutral crowds inherently root against Duke too. Either way, it's a great crowd for the noon game.

I've honestly never heard of Mercer, and if I didn't see the score I'd think this was a blowout, but they're hanging around. They're just getting lucky honestly, that #52 post for them is a goof. Buttt Suliamon doesn't drain like 3 well defended 3s....

    I fully respect the honesty.

What an impressive win. Mercer looked really, really good. Duke didn't play bad. Mercer just executed.

Y'know, I think I'd rather miss the tourney altogether than lose in the first round to Lehigh and Mercer. @ Dook

To be fair, Weber St. is strong for a #16 seed. It wouldn't totally shock me if they pulled off the upset.

Somewhere Dick Vitale let out a few tears..

Part of me would almost want to see Weber St. upset Arizona just to see the reaction here.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

SFA couldn't pull it off. Too much pressure and too many missed shots. Maybe not! 4 point play attempt! My oh my! What a game!
