Sigh. At least the team was somewhat competitive tonight. I thought the starters played well with the exception of David West.

    Reasons Pacers lost:
Pacers had 20 turnovers, Mavericks had 10.
    Only 14 assists(negative A/TO ratio)
Bench scoring: Mavericks 41 Pacers 4.
    Anything else?

There was some fight, some spirit in this game. Dallas's other guys shot really well though, and Ellis made clutch plays when needed. I feel a lot better after this game to be honest, I saw some glimpses of really great play.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Loved what I saw from the starters. PG and Lance were attacking and Hibbert was using his size well.

The bench was complete garbage. I don't want to say I hate Luis Scola because hate is a strong word, but I'll just say I am almost at the point of hating him.

80% of their buckets started off calderon/ellis/harris dribble drives. roy has to help because hil gets beat, boom easy bucket.

also, hibbert watching sloan and PG battle for that rebound that lead to caldersons 3 was sickening.

Need to make some fix on our play:
    - George Hill needs to play more of spot shooter from beginning of games.
    - Need more pick n roll plays for West, Lance and PG for easier scoring.
    - More penetrating to the basket and get fouls or out to open 3 ball.
    - Maybe need to sit Scola and replace him by Cope some games.

    then guys continue ...

You are insane with your George Hill trashing. Your credibility gets hurt when you just keep ripping the same player with nothing to back it up. The whole team played bad defense, Hill included. But you seem to just single George Hill out all the time.

We looked better, but turnovers and fouls killed us.

We have the next five games to figure it out and get back on track.

have i said anything that wasnt factual?

and im not bashing him. i would like him to initiate our offense and make the first pass with more than 6 seconds left on the shot clock. and maybe stay in front of a guard.

Did anyone else think we should have gone through Lance more in the 2nd half. He was balling in the first (I did miss the first few minutes, damn clocks). I also feel we should switch Hill's and Lance's rotations. Let Hill play with 2nd unit, but it may be too late in the season to make that adjustment.

Also, Why does Vince Carter always have one of his best games of the year against us? It has gone on as long as I can remember.

And the bench was awful. Scola really needs to be benched for Copeland.

Some spirit and competition aren't enough though. The fourth quarter was a travesty and we gave up 105 overall. Don't care if they were extraordinarily hot shooting or not. The amount of penetration we gave up - and it wasn't just Hill - was pitiful. I think they look disinterested. Need to get it turned around ASAP.

I feel like they just died on the steps of the ER. So close to getting to the basketball hospital and then they just bled out.

I don't know what's going on, but it is bad. We couldn't even get a W with PG going for 26 and 11 on like 68% shooting? I feel like our puppy just got run over by a garbage truck.

It was better. We were competitive tonight and had stretches of really good basketball. The slump is absolutely real but we can come out of it. That's good to know.

I really, really wish that Frank would play Cope a little. Just give him a chance. Luis is not playing well and I agree with Anthem's take on this. If Luis is not healthy then sit him until he becomes healthy. Play Cope and use your depth a little. This 9-man rotation is not helping the team lately. You have the weapons in your hands, use them to help this team get out of the slump.

    Fire Frank.

I wouldn't go nearly that far.

He has been a Godsend to this franchise since his arrival on so many levels.

But right now, as one of his ardent supporters, I have to admit to being very frustrated with him.

I think that possibly due to his 'uber positive' mentality, he is hesitant to "send a message" to guys like Scola who are just stinking it up on the court.

What detriment would there be having Cope on the floor over Scola right now? There is literally nothing that Cope would do that could possibly be WORSE than what Scola is doing. And I like Luis!

I know everyone is concerned about Cope being a step slow on defense. Well Scola is 2 steps slow right now. At least Cope has range to stretch the defense and put points on the board.

But Frank just refuses to budge from his rotation, despite the glaringly obvious struggles.

He has his reasons I am sure. I'm doing my best to give him the benefit of the doubt, because I think he's earned it.

But it's frustrating. The Scola/Cope thing is just 1 of several big issues that he is really stubborn about right now.

Good bounce back from Paul in the 2nd half. I don't think Lance even touched the ball in the 3rd.
