PG -30 Hibbert -28. Remember when it was the bench that was the big problem?

Pretty much everyone had a terrible +/- not much to read into that stat. Turner was -20 in only 15 minutes.

this teams been average since the "team on a mission" by nba tv. specifically, since the WC trip post the GSW game. Steady decline since then. We have had a few nice wins but overall, we have not been as sharp/crisp.

not blaming the team on mission documentary. it just coincides as to when the wheels began to fall off. Teams have figured us out to some degree. Also, we have no shooters other than cope who rides the pine.

PG is more of a scorer, and I once believed G Hill to be a shooter but of late im not sure what he really gives us any longer.

were simply not a good offensive team. It may not be fair but the blame goes to Coach Vogel. Pacers are underachieving offensively and Coach Vogel is going to have to make some schematically.

I really like Frank, hence my photo...but I'm starting to wonder if maybe the Pacers could have a problem like the Pistons did with Rick Carlisle where he's a great coach/motivator, but just couldn't quite get the most out of these guys now, and is stubborn to a fault. It took the Pistons to go to Larry Brown (which was VERY questionable at the time) to win the title, I don't know atm about Frank, and how Larry truly feels about him.

The Pacers were easily scoring 90+ and into the 100's sometimes when they were crushing people, now it's a struggle to get to 90 here in a bunch of games.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Like its been said...vogel needs to start Solo or Butler over Lance.
This will force the starting line up to actually play some offense and pass the ball around and set guys up, play from the post. Focus more on Defense. Lance's presence in the beginning of the game does not facilitate ball movement. He pounds the rock too much. Bring Lance in off the bench at the 5-6 minute mark and let him go crazy, and set up the starters for easy baskets before the rest of the bench comes in. Thats how this team played at the beginning of the season and it worked pretty well despite being down at the half many times.

This team has to start out playing their game and at their pace. Lance doesn't let that happen. This team was dominating last season from the post because Lance was viewed as an energy guy even as a starter because he wasn't looked upon to score reliably. George Hill is too good of an offensive player to be the 5th option on this team. Not to mention he needs to have a green light to make those point guards have to guard him.

Lance is a good player but its no secret this team started struggling once he started taking over. He is playing a game with in the game right now, and losing sight of the overall goal. He needs to get back to making everyone better.

We have completely stopped driving to the hoop and it is killing us. I don't know if Lance and PG think they aren't going to get the call so they back off, or they've just lost their edge. Since we dont drive anymore, and we can't shoot, teams are just packing the paint and daring us to shoot long twos.

Watch when we come off screens now, we instantly dribble back towards the top of the key and let the defense recover, its very frustrating.

My point was the starters are starting to be a problem. Not too often do two All Stars have a stat line like that.

We are a bad team right now. All of the focus, confidence, defense and teamwork are practically non existent. I'm not upset. Something is wrong in that locker room. I guarantee it. Don't know if it's fixable.
**** a locker room Shaq and Kobe hated each other and won three championships ....and dominated for 4 seasons... its bad coaching and bad players....

I'd say its been since that west coast road trip where we got blasted by the Suns. That road trip exposed alot of weaknesses in our game. We can't handle speed, and our 2 wings are all to willing to try and take over the game because the rest of the squad lacks speed. This is what I don't understand about Vogel though, we weren't a fast team last season, but we forced our style of play to negate the weakness. This season the team has technically gotten even slower. Yet he freely lets PG and Lance speed the game up at will.

We get broke down at the pg position allot & turn the ball over. Ever since Hill took Collision's spot 2 years ago we haven't had a real PG & it shows now that teams have figured it out. Too often Paul George has to defend the opposing PG late in games which puts Hill at a size disadvantage vs. a wing. He was a better option 2 years ago & allot of time last year because he scored but Hill doesn't score enough to make up for not being a PG that runs the offense smoothly. At least at the elite level the Pacers had joined. Also, Lance with the 2nd unit is no longer the answer. He needs to adjust as teams have him scouted well now. They scouted weak point guard play in the pick/roll & they have learned to control Lance while guarding Scola's jumper in the 2nd unit. Then they attack Scola on D whenever he plays.

Mate, it has not lasted 2 months. Let's be real now.

I'll post what I posted in the game thread again. From the start of the season until December 31 we were 25-5. From January 1 until March 2 (after the Utah game) we were 21-8. Do you honestly see a big difference there? I'm asking an honest question.

No, the difference is not that bad. We certainly played better in November and December but we were still winning in January and February.

Something is different in the last 2 games, though. Something really, really bad.
We have been winning because we have a talented roster, not because we have played well. We haven't. I've said it after our wins too.

Yes, both PHX games George Hill got absolutely abused as bad as you can. Really badly. Other teams have since followed. I don't blame him for everything as we may have bigger issues in the locker room I'm unaware of, but stopping opposing point guards wether it be pick/roll, pick n pop, or just paint penetration has been a huge issue lately. The fact Hill isn't a point also hurts our turnovers. Sure Paul George & Lance give it up too easy as well. Hill does lock in & play hard at least & if the Pacers are lucky enough to face Miami at least he checks Rio for the Heat. Also, it's time for coach to adjust to what teams have seen in us & counter, either with different personnel or play calling.

Yes, I remember that you've said it after wins too. And I remember that I disagreed with you back then on this and I still disagree now.

We were winning because we played well enough to win. No, we weren't playing as well as we were playing back in November and December but we still looked like a top team.

That's not the case with the last two games. The way we played in the last two games wouldn't even beat a college team.

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

If you ask me, perfect time to be in a slump
We all knew March would be tough to get a lot of wins and 1 big loss or 2 only counts as 1 loss or 2.
There is more to learn from slumps than from victories and after March it's April and in April it's playoffs time baby

    Gooooooooooo Pacers! We believe!

Not worried yet. The 46-16 team gets the benefit of the doubt for me. Had a similar stretch with an inferior team last season, and the sky was falling then too, then we made it to ECF game 7.
Still don't think there is a team in the league winning 4 of 7 games against us in the playoffs.
