The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I've have been calling for playing Hill with Turner on that bench unit, and that produced tonight and got us back into the game. Vogel has been sleeping on G Hill. All this talk about how much Hill has to sacrifice this year so that PG and Lance can have their great seasons. Sacrifice no more GHill!

Also interesting to see Cope come in and immediately give the team life even in a blow out. Vogel needs to get Cope some real minutes, doesn't matter if his defense is terrible. The whole bench already sucks on D. They need to score.

Boys looked tired tonight. 4 games in 5 nights is a baseball schedule not a schedule for a game that actually requires running.

Maybe what we need is to lose The Number One Seed and get focused on the opportunity to defeat Miami in head-to-head basketball games.

The Pacers earned my trust this year. I'm not going to cave into the 'sky is falling' mentality, or "be worried" or worse.

I'm disappointed that we've let a great chance to extend our lead over Miami slip away and we're now neck and neck with them.

I'm frustrated that we're playing poor offensive basketball and our defense comes and goes in (too short) spurts.

But at the same time, there are still many games to be played in the regular season. We're still integrating a new rotation player, and we still are waiting to see if Bynum can give us anything. I would rather we hit our lull now and re-peak in a month than the other way around.

Gotta admit though, I'll be really bummed out if we don't get the #1 seed. Thankfully, we still control our own destiny where that is concerned. We have head to head matchups with Miami still, and they aren't going to go undefeated the rest of the way either.

But we really do need to start playing with some more consistent effort and fire. If we want that ECF Game 7 in Indiana, we have to bring that NOW.

Frustrating couple nights. But we'll bounce back.

These past two games just prove the concerns many had after lackluster play vs. Boston and Milwaukee was a legit fear. I really don't think Indiana vs. Miami is a complete lock with the way we are playing.

Paul George and David West with the impressive -38 and -36 plus/minus, respectively. Meanwhile Luis Scola somehow managed a +17 in 14 minutes.

Also Pacers need to get to controlling the tempo, they need to bring these games to a crawl. They do not have the offense to just keep scoring and keep up with teams on the road. Vogel has lost controll of the team in my opinion. Too much gunning by Lance after a rebound trying to turn everything into a fastbreak.

Not going to mock you. I think it's perfectly natural to be concerned after watching games like this one and (most of) last night. And frankly most of the last month or two, despite the winning record.

At the same time, us "sunshiners" simply choose to acknowledge that the team isn't perfect but that does not suddenly mean we are garbage either.

There are definitely areas that need considerable improvement. The good thing? We all know that we CAN play that way, because we've done it for long stretches this season.

It's there, we just have to rediscover it. I trust Frank and our Veterans to spur our team on that journey of rediscovery in the latter portion of the season.

Mocked by sunshiners? Do we need to start fighting with each other again?

I mean, what the heck? Some people mock and others don't. It doesn't have to do with being a sunshiner or a darksider.

We have not played very well for almost 2 months now. We are not the same team that played Nov and Dec. While Frank seems to think everything is just fine, at least his rotations say he's fine with things.

I panicked a long time ago.

Toronto and this Charlotte team may indeed have something to say about it. The reality is, we have been struggling to win games for awhile. Utah, Boston and Milwaukee were all very close. Miami is now tied in the L column and we are headed to Houston. The way we are playing, we could be behind the Heat a few games in just a week or so.

I'm not panicked but they have been in a funk for awhile. We've just not played like a team vying for a championship. We've still won a lot of games recently, but we're not playing at an elite level.

The excuses from this team and from the fans are tiring. Everyone wants to make excuses for this team.

    "It's a B2B / they're not playing hard until the playoffs / PG24 was tired / PG24's back hurts / blah blah blah"

That we have to keep going down this road suggests to me this team isn't nearly as tough as they think they are.

This game only has one positive out-take.

Chris Copeland played great. Evan Turner was very good as well.

I really, really hope that Vogel gives Cope some PT. He deserves to be part of our rotation. I also believe that we need a 10-man rotation. I'm with Grimp on this one.

PG and Lance are playing way too many minutes.

Against the Heat in a must win regular season game? I understand.

But at this point, we need to get Cope, possibly LaVoy and/or Rasual a few minutes a game to lessen the burden on PG and Lance.

Especially considering PG's nasty fall that he says has been tightening up on him tonight.

We've got a few guys on our bench who have shown in limited minutes they can help us maintain or grow leads, or cut into deficits. Why not give them a chance to help the team by taking some pressure off our starters?
