I vaguely remember the reggie miller days and became a diehard the last season of Reggie's career.... Danny, along with Jermaine O'neal were the reasons I watched Pacers basketball. Sad day seeing him leave, my 4 Granger jerseys don't even show as much loyalty as he showed to the city. never once demanding a trade a sticking through it.... Danny, you will be missed

We traded JO too. I guess the shocking part was that we were expecting Danny to walk, but not get traded.

I wonder where Danny ranks in the Pacers pantheon. Like JO, he was the face of the franchise for a time, but unlike JO it was at a time of losing.

I still remember what a pleasant surprise it was to pluck him at #17 in the draft. Then to watch him grow from a defender/utility guy to becoming a scorer. I'm still not sure exactly how he scored so many points in 08-09, he just doesn't seem like he has a dominant scoring game. For a long time he was just about the only bright spot on the team.

He's a good guy and a pretty good player. I think he still can be pretty good, but I guess we just didn't want to wait on him to recover.

Good luck Danny, and hope you score a big new contract with all the shots you're going to get in Philly.

I put players who won playoff series a lot higher than ones that don't. (and what I mean if they were major contributors to playoff series wins) In this department Danny falls short - not that it is his fault. But Danny won't rank very high on my top player list for that reason.

This has to be my favorite Danny moment. I remember it was a very late game that ended up going until midnight where I live. I stayed up and was rewarded with the moment that solidified Danny as my favorite player. We will miss you Danny.

Hey - it works for the Pacers, It works for the 6ers, it works for Danny. He'll get plenty of time to show what he's worth next year.

Thanks, enjoy. Great sandwiches in Philly. And jog the Rocky Steps.

I am sure Peck will do a nice write up on him.

I feel bad for him because of the injury, and that he won't be a major contributer to this team. But the injury caused that, not the trade.

Trades are part of the NBA.

(Besides Reggie who didn't the pacers trade or let walk? Smits, who else?
Jeff Foster is the only player I can think of. I guess it was going to happen some day but I thought it would be this summer. I hope he can land a spot with another team. He's really been a shell of his former self this season (not an insult but more a compliment to how good he was pre-injury) but he's still a great person and his defense has been solid, especially when guarding the taller and bigger forwards.

According to ESPN Sports and Statistics, Danny Granger was with the Pacers for 9 seasons. Only 5 players in franchise history were with the team for longer.

Thanks for everything Danny. Thank you especially for be a bright shining star during the Pacers Dark Years.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

He was big in 2012 IMO. Which started it all for us. He was big in 2011 in the Bulls series.

    NBA Pacers who ranks higher?

Sucks to see him traded.. Especially to a terrible team, but hopefully he goes to a contender. His energy and passion always got me excited to watch the team.

Don't have youtube access, but someone might post the game winner against Phoenix a couple years ago and the Clevelandgame where Danny gets called on a foul against LeBron late in the game and then the Pacers run the same play and Danny gets the same foul call and game winner. LeBron lived up to his LeBaby nickname.

I was so super excited after seeing Danny's senior year performance for New Mexico in their conference tourney and Danny falling to us at #17 based on knee rumors. I remember people debating between DG and Gerald Green.

I really wanted Danny to stay here until the end of his career. Injuries really, really suck. **** those injuries for ruining good things

Danny deserved to stay here for the championship run. I'm bummed to see him traded at a time like this.

Good luck to everything, Danny. I wasn't here when you were the one bright spot in our dark years like several of the other guys in here. But I did appreciate everything that you gave us.

Thank you for the awesome years that you gave us, Captain. Let's hope that you have an awesome remainder of the season in Philly and you get a nice contract. You definitely deserve it

"But, first, let us now praise famous moments, because something happened Tuesday night in Indianapolis that you can watch a lifetime’s worth of professional basketball and never see again. There was a brief, and very decisive, and altogether unprecedented, outburst of genuine officiating, and it was directed at the best player in the world, and that, my dear young person, simply is not done."

Too bummed to write anything serious right now but I just wanted to say this: the one thing I always liked about Danny was he had the spark, that competitive fire. He never wanted to be buddy-buddy with Lebron or any other opponents, he wanted to beat them and beat them bad. In today's NBA, that is a rare thing.

Wish I could find a decent clip of it, but drawing a Lebron James foul with 0.4 left to beat the Cavs has always been a pleasant memory.

May you find your way to Phoenix and the Suns' training staff. They can rebuild you. They have the technology.
