He wanted playing time. He can beat out Sef' for playing time in OKC. Can't beat out Wade in Miami.

Is Thabo in OKC's line-up to be a good defender? And doesn't Butler kind of suck at defense?

I honestly haven't seen Caron enough to know about his defense. But he obviously didn't wanna ride the Heat bench swirling towels around and going "woooo" as Lebron ran up and down the floor. So he chose OKC. More power to em' I say.

I think he will play a role as a (very) poor man's Kevin Martin on this OKC team. He ain't out there for his defense, put it that way.

Maybe it is because players do not want to play with Lebron and maybe they see them as vulnerable???

Looking at Butler's track record, I forgot he was that well-traveled as a pro. I thought he spent longer than two seasons in Miami, so there's not as much of a loyalty factor there. In Miami, he's competing with Allen, Beasley, and Battier for minutes off the bench. In OKC, Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones? I think given that, there's a clear favorite there for PT.

I still don't expect him to be a true difference maker in a playoff series, but if you need a guy who won't embarrass himself out there, hit some spot up threes and give you toughness, Butler fits the bill at this point in his career.
