Looking at Turner's rebounds and assists, he is better than prime Granger in those categories.

I actually think if Allen develops right, he could be a starter in this league, he has skill and is young, certainly needs to improve though. I understand i'm higher on him than most though
He's a nice cherry on the top, that's for sure. I can't believe that we got these two players for Granger and a second rounder. This is a significant improvement.

Bird's bench moves since returning in July are like when Michael returns from Italy in The Godfather and settles all family business. There's no doubt that Bird has been in charge these last seven months.

I know nothing of Allen. Curious to see if he sticks around past this summer or not. From the way more than a few of you talk, makes me think he and Cope combined are enough to justify letting Scola go this summer if we want to apply that $ differently.

We"ll isn't this an interesting situation that bird has put forth for us. Two young restricted free agents with something to prove and starters playing time up for grabs to play for a contract next season.

Like pacer4ever, I'm really confused about this move from Philly's perspective. They have so little talent..why would they be so disinterested in giving Turner a QO?

It's a bit of a red flag, so maybe there are some lockerroom issues.

For basketball reasons, I like the trade. I don't love it, as I am not what you would consider a huge fan of The Villain's game (although I do love his nickname). For all the reasons I love sports, I hate it. I understand it's a business and all that stuff, but Granger had been through all of that **** with us. He felt like one of us. It felt like we were in it together to a certain extent. I just have an empty feeling in my gut about this trade.

We all have respect for Danny and I will miss him.........

Evan Turner, at 6'7, can flat out handle the rock. Period. Danny was never able to do that. He's more refined than PG and more controlled than Lance. To me it seems like we traded Danny for a younger version of Andre Igoudala. I'm happy with that.

I got near court-side seats to the 76ers game March 17th for pretty cheap on stubhub... even more worth it now, can't wait to show Danny all the love I can for his years of great service. Only thing that kept me going through the lean years.

It's a real gut punch that he's gone, but it's a business and this makes us better and gives us more flexability come the offseason. My hats off to Bird & Pritchard, more than a few FO's wouldn't have the balls to make a move like this in a similar situation.

He also turns the ball over a LOT. 3.0 times per 36 minutes. He can handle the rock, but he makes questionable decisions with it. He's not more refined than PG and I'm not sure he's more controlled than Lance. Comparing him to Andre Igoudala is a great disservice to Andre Igoudala. Iggy is a tremendous perimeter defender and Evan Turner, well, isn't:
According to Synergy video tracking, Turner had a big hand in the Sixers' horrendous defense as he ranked as the single-worst defender on a per-possession basis among 87 players with at least 500 plays defended.

I was hoping we could send Danny out with a ring. He's been a classy guy.

Basketball wise though it's a nice deal for us. Turner's flexibility allows Paul to always stay at the three spot. i like that. And He is a credible three man when he plays with Lance. Hard to see anyone else getting wing minutes barring injury or foul trouble. I'm good with that.

Allen sets nice screens. that can help us. He's young too and with some time under the wing of BAMF he could really be a nice back up for us long term.

Only clear drawback I see is that Danny was our second best defensive option to put on LaPunk. It'll have to be PG all the time now. If he gets into foul trouble we're kinda screwed. Lance is to short, Turner too thin, Cope... just no.

I like the idea of adding another slashing guy who can rebound and pass. With so many options now to dish too I could see Turner's assist numbers go up as he picks his shots better and his TS goes up too.

Bynum inside is going to open up the passing lanes and outside opportunities for us pretty well. With that and the slash and dish I could see a much more dynamic and versatile mix offensively.

Don't play Lance as much with the 2nd unit, let Turner run the 2nd unit

Well with those turnovers he should fit right in.

But seriously, the Sixers showed their hand very early that they intended to be terrible. Turner was the only player on the roster that resembled a legit scorer but he's not. He's a facilitator and honestly, I don't blame him for "hot doggin" on D. The endgame in Philly is a brick wall and he had no future there. This trade just amplified that.

I would like to see George Hill being the first sub out now (basically switching roles with Lance) and playing with Turner and the second unit. Lance and Turner replicate each other too much with their skill set, and we need all the perimeter shooting we can get in that unit. Plus if Turner starts to lose control, you have a veteran in there who can take over the ball handling duties or share them at the very least.
