I'm not one who normally says this, but numbers don't tell the whole story with Turner. Number one, he was pretty much the number one option when he should be a 3rd option on a good team and more of a 4th option on a championship team. He's not a great shooter but he does have a nice pull up, mid range game. He's not a great individual defender, but he's not a complete liability either. He's a good ball handler, and is a guy that can get easy shots within the half court. He's also a good finisher in both the open court and "in-between" area AND is a good passer.

Without having to worry about the best defensive perimeter player guarding him, Turner should be able to be a bit more efficient (ALA Stephenson who is crazy wild but shoots 50% because he has lesser defenders guarding him).
Maybe, but this is his most efficient season to date and the first season he has been a number 1 option. Much like with Trent Richardson for the Colts, there are a lot of red flags there that have me worried.

They're 15-40 and he assumed he was staying on the team. I don't blame him one bit.

Also, all of these teary-eyed Granger fans are probably the same people who were wearing orange when Manning played the Colts earlier this year. I don't get rooting for a player over rooting for your favorite TEAM. Wish the guy well, but if Manning, Reggie, Smits, Hibbert, PG, Lance--IDGAF who--aren't helping the Pacers or Colts win, then they are helping them lose and that is reason enough for me to root against them as much as I root against the Heat, Knicks, Lakers, Patriots, Ravens, etc.

Apparently fans can't miss or like anyone who played for the Pacers (or Colts for that matter) and they end up playing for someone else. Hard to believe but fans get attached (see Cavs with LeBron) and when these players are cut or traded some fans end up missing them. Just because you don't care doesn't mean others can't.

I understand if you are bothered by those who root for players at the expense of the team but I don't see anyone here saying they're rooting for Granger at the expense of the Pacers its not even been 24 hours yet I see no issue with people being "teary eyed" over Granger. Just like I didn't have an issue with them being "teary eyed" over Manning when he was cut a couple years ago.

As long as its not at the expense of the Pacers/Colts I have no issue rooting for players who left these teams on good terms to succeed. I never understood why it bothered others and some people were never fans of the team to begin with they were probably player only fans and just followed them regardless of team. That's their right to do so as well.

Kenny agreed w/ Chuck.....Barkley basically thinks we'll be able to put more pressure on Wade.

Yep. Tough to imagine Wade being able to play 38 minutes a game while guarding Lance and Turner.

Wade's knees are already suspect, I think it would be tough to handle 48 minutes of slashing from Stephenson and Turner

My only concern is that Turner may not be able to spread the floor as well as Granger. He is a mediocre 3 point shooter. Granted DG's % was poor this year but at least it led to good spacing.

I'm very excited that we got a young and talented player to throw at Miami in the Playoffs. Danny was my favorite player, and he was the reason I started watching basketball more frequently, and a huge reason why I joined this board. I loved watching Danny progress as a player, and it sucks that an injury took his career down a notch. Hopefully he's able to do well in Philly and earn a good contract.

I hope turner can handle the pressure and spotlight, I don't want to see a repeat of Gerald green. I think turner is more polished and am excited to see his contribution. But we still need to get this offensive scheme and cut down on turnovers to make a run at the finals.

I loved Danny as a Pacer, except the last 2 years. Injuries suck. Danny handled it with grace, but as Bill Simmons once said... when you lose your brakes in the NBA you are done. It's a young mans game, especially on the wings. Evan Turner is a huge upgrade in talent.

Danny was the bright spot during the worst years of the Indiana Pacers. He will always be one of my all time favorite Pacers.

So do Miami's scouts. Heck, so do most of Miami's players.

It's not like our offense or our defense are some big secret.

It's not hard to figure out our offense....its pretty much.....dribble dribble....pass pass pass....hope that some scoring opportunity comes up....then jack up a 3pt shot with 5 seconds left in the shot clock.

Scola just needs to sit in that 15 foot range and screen and pop that long jumper. Instead he's handling the ball a lot, trying to post up and take guys off the dribble.

I think the trade at the absolute bare bones boils down to one thing. We traded a minus ball-handler for a positive one. If nothing else, we should have 1-2 less turnovers a game and that may be the difference down the stretch.

Being a better ball handler doesn't mean fewer turnovers. The only wing player who gets consistent minutes with a higher turnover rate than Turner is Stephenson. We might actually see an increase in turnovers.
