Copeland playing last night had nothign to do with this. Basically just plug ET into DGs mins. Lets not overthing this.
So how do you explain the news going around that they wanted a 10 man rotation? You have a bench now where you can throw five men out there and replace all five starters. I was watching NBA TV discuss this deal, and even they have Copeland's name posted as backup to PG when they showed the Pacers depth chart graphic.

Just read that Turner is one of six in the league this year to average 17-6-3.5. The other five? Durant, James, Love, Griffin, and Westbrook.
I watch Philly games sometimes.. He is a flat out baller and will really fit with this team

bet your *** they will. they've spent the better part of two years pretending Battier's still a viable player.
battier still plays defense, though. He's washed up but he provides something they need more than Danny.

I bet Larry had this move in his back pocket the whole time, the Sixers were hoping to get more for Turner, and when they got nothing, this was their last desperate move to do something.

The Sixers got Danny to try and get out of the salary floor.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Lance plays harder, but Turner plays smarter.
not sure I agree both make a lot of poor decisions. Turner takes so many bad shots. Even when Philly was good that was a problem. Both have flaws. Both have high b ball iq imo but both try to do to much at times.

    Why would they want him?
To keep him off another team's playoff roster. Isn't that why all bought-out players are signed?

Granger hasn't been good at basketball for 2 years. I'm not fretting Miami, or anyone else signing him.

This is yet another example of why Larry Bird is basically the best executive in the business. Dude has added Scola, Bynum, and Evan Turner over the last 7 months, and that's after building a top 3 or so core from 2008-2012.

You can't let sentimental feelings get in the way of maxing out a championship opportunity. The Pacers have a golden opportunity this season.

So why did Philly even make this trade in the first place?! Couldn't they have just cut Turner and Allen.

They needed something like 6 million to get to the cap minimum.
Are we sure this is the reason? Doesn't seem logical to me. If they ended up 6 million under the cap, they just would have had to pay that extra 6 million to their existing players. That makes more sense then to pay a guy a bunch of money (not sure how much?) NOT to play for you.

Are you saying there isn't a chance Turner doesn't despite our starters ball movement struggles.

Woah. OJ gone in a separate deal, or bundled to Philly?
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

It really just makes no sense at all from the 76ers standpoint and that was the only thing logical I could come up with. Hey, maybe the 76ers owner has a massive bet on the Pacers winning the NBA Finals.

Peyton wasn't traded, we just didn't re-sign him.
He was cut while still under that new contract he signed a few months earlier.

I think SAS makes sense, especially depending on how long Kawhi is out. Clippers make sense too.
