Thank God!!! Most overrated Pacer in history. When OJ went to the D-League, Granger was literally the worst player on our roster. Sick and f'ing tired of all the excuses made for Granger's lack of shooting, on/off ball movement, ball handling ability, desire to compete defensively, or protecting the basketball. The man held us back and it wasn't until he was injured that we flourished. One good season on a bad team does not make you a great player, especially if it's followed by 5 years of awful-average.
More like one great season, followed by 5 years of pretty good. During the middle of his career Danny's stat's rivaled the likes of Deng, Iguodala, etc. The fact that he played with virtually zero other quality NBA starters during that time held us down, not Danny Granger. Just because he wasn't a franchise caliber superstar doesn't mean that he, his game, or his contract held us back. We began to flourish while he was still the featured player on our team, culminated by the competitive 6 game series against the Miami Heat during the 2011-2012 season (where he was our leading scorer)

One of the positives about him being traded is that now that we will no longer have to hear false opinions such as these regarding his game or his time as a Pacer as much anymore.

    Edit: or what Heinsberg said!

So why did Philly even make this trade in the first place?! Couldn't they have just cut Turner and Allen.
They needed something like 6 million to get to the cap minimum.

    Smh.

I think this is one of the moves thaat bite Larry back id much rather have Granger for a title run than Evan freaking turner.
There wasn't going to be a title run with granger in the rotation.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

South Beach. And who could blame him.
Sad thing is that would probably help the Pacers considering Danny just can't guard anyone any more.
You know how hippos are made out to be sweet and silly, like big cows, but are actually extremely dangerous and can kill you with stunning brutality? The Pacers are the NBA's hippos....Matt Moore CBS Sports....

If we win it all this year, Danny deserves an honorary ring.
Didn't the Colts do that for Edge?

You can't resign a player you just traded, there's like a 6 month period.
Wasn't it Ilgauskas that was traded then re-signed with the Cavs, before this rule was put into place? Was there anyone else that did this, which led to them putting the rule in place?

Wow. Larry is really worried to pull that trigger
I think you may be projecting your feelings onto Larry here. I think he made this move because it makes us better now and because it puts us in a better position this summer (Lance insurance).

Yeah, it used to be 30 days, but in 2010 the Cavs traded Illgauskis to the Wizards, who immediately bought him out. The Cavs re-signed him a month later, and IIRC a lot of people complained about it and said that the rule needed to be changed so that teams couldn't re-sign a bough out player who they had just traded.

He doesn't fit on their roster. They might be he won't be any kind of a factor. They have enough issues covering for Ray's matador D.

Granger's best destinations are Phoenix or San Antonio.

Why would they want him aside from maybe getting inside intel from him? He's really just a name at this point. It sucks that the injury completely zapped him of his abilities, but it just unfortunately is what it is.
