It has nothing about the Granger deal in there yet. Just the shuffling of the deck chair trades that went down earlier in the day.

We all know that Granger wasn't producing and he was given every chance to prove himself. The writing was on the wall when Bird basically said Granger doesn't train hard in the offseason. Evan Turner will provide instant offense for an inconsistent bench, it wasn't too long ago when he was compared to Brandon Roy.

Another no-brainer move. They have no use for him.

Look for him to sign with the spurs or maybe the suns. He isn't a fit for the heat.

I don't see the free agency market for him being huge. The other teams see the same tape we all do.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

His minutes were at the 4 last night. I doubt very highly he gets Paul's minutes. Turner replaces Granger in the rotation. Maybe cuts into some of Lance's heavy minutes.
Word was Indiana wanted a 10 man rotation. Helps the starters get more of a breather.

    Allen
    Cope
    Bynum (Ian for now)
    Turner
    Watson

^can play a whole bench now. Give our starting five some breathers. I think that's why they have not played well in some games this season. Dues are being played too much. Strengthening our bench with a big who can shoot, and is athletic. And a two way player in Turner....is a gift! Now our guys can be fresh for the playoffs.

I think this is one of the moves thaat bite Larry back id much rather have Granger for a title run than Evan freaking turner.

Also if you're wondering why Copeland was thrown into the game last night versus Minnesota? Well, you just got your answer. They're telling him.........IT'S YOUR TIME NOW. Paul's backup spot is all yours.
I think its more likely that Stephenson shifts and Turner drops in to the 2 spot when PG subs out. I assume Cope's pt will go up a bit - but not dramatically. He's certainly not PG's backup.

This deal has been 7 years in the making. My word I finally get my wish, and maybe just at the right time.

Who is speaking this word? I haven't heard it yet. Not saying it isn't true, but just looking for some confirmation there.

You can't resign a player you just traded, there's like a 6 month period.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

It also lets LB off the hook with the Lance vs. Danny decision. I understand that Danny is now gone and certain people will hate it no matter what. But, those people are now already galvanized and there won't be any hate towards Lance because Danny isn't here.
Nope...that just shifts the conversation from Lance Vs. Danny to Lance Vs. Turner

So why did Philly even make this trade in the first place?! Couldn't they have just cut Turner and Allen.

Just read that Turner is one of six in the league this year to average 17-6-3.5. The other five? Durant, James, Love, Griffin, and Westbrook.

Being real about it, the hell is Philly doing? Not like they shed any salary. They gained literally nothing, apparently a 2nd rounder I guess.

Go launch bombs Danny. Enjoy LA next year.
Maybe what they gained was some goodwill for helping the Pacers when they didn't have anything to lose either...
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.
