This isn't just for this season potentially either...it's not like Turner is a 39 year old retiring or something.

Hate it because I loved Granger so much before, but now this is a no brainer, there's no downside, only upside.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

Turner and Stephenson is the best shooting guard duo in the nba, talent wise. That's a hell of a 4-guard rotation to throw at Miami.

I might re-think my stance on who has the better roster. This could be that little bit that puts them over the top.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Also if you're wondering why Copeland was thrown into the game last night versus Minnesota? Well, you just got your answer. They're telling him.........IT'S YOUR TIME NOW. Paul's backup spot is all yours.

Because frankly this is probably our best shot. Lance could sign elsewhere and you know Bynum isn't coming back. The Pacers are scary stacked with talent right now to punch the bully (Heat) in the mouth.

Didn't Evan Turner and Andrew Bynum get into it in the media last year?

I can see the emotional side, but strictly from a basketball standpoint, this is a no brainer. Chemistry is the only thing that concerns me. Hopefully its not like one of those Kendrick Perkins things when he was traded from Boston that hurt the team, I don't think it is.

    Turner is an excellent defender.

Indy can re-sign him, as well as Lance. Especially if Ian goes.
Turner is NOT an excellent defender. I'm not sure I would even call him a good defender. And there is not a chance in hell Indy re-signs both Turner and Lance. It's one or the other.

I can say one thing with realtive certainty: There is not a happier human being on Earth right now than vnzla. Turner was his dude since before that draft and we all know his stance on Danny.
Dunno. He'd be fighting an uphill battle trying to convince people Scola has been great the last few weeks.

Thank God!!! Most overrated Pacer in history. When OJ went to the D-League, Granger was literally the worst player on our roster. Sick and f'ing tired of all the excuses made for Granger's lack of shooting, on/off ball movement, ball handling ability, desire to compete defensively, or protecting the basketball. The man held us back and it wasn't until he was injured that we flourished. One good season on a bad team does not make you a great player, especially if it's followed by 5 years of awful-average.

    Shocking moment of realization:

We now have 3 former 76ers on our team, from a team that went 34-48 last season.

What if Turner ends up sucking on our bench like every other good player we've brought in to help our bench?

He was hurting them on the floor worse than he was helping them in the locker room.

His minutes were at the 4 last night. I doubt very highly he gets Paul's minutes. Turner replaces Granger in the rotation. Maybe cuts into some of Lance's heavy minutes.

I consider him a solid defender. Meaning smart, but not having the athleticism to be an excellent defender

Damn, that game doesn't fall in our half season package. Looks like I'll be swapping just to give him some respect.
Haha, its on my half season .... but I gave that game ticket to my wife and her friend. She's bummed about it too.

Turner can play some 1 in our system. Gotta think that Sloan is the one who gets cut.

I'm not comfortable cutting Butler, unless the front office thinks OJ has come a long way in a short amount of time.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

What's even better is that I don't even consider this an "ALL IN" type move.

If the trade is just Granger+OJ/Butler+2nd round pick for Evans+Allen....that's more like a Medium-sized raise cuz it didn't really cost the Pacers anything of real value.

An "All In" move for me would have been some "High Cost / High Reward" type of move.....something involving Solo and/or a 1st round pick or some move that would have completely to make a run for this season while completely ignoring the impact to the future.
