Default Pacers / Bucks Post Game Thread 2/27

I hope GH shoulder or Elbow is OK and doesn't keep him out of too many games.

    Pacers win!

Before anyone says it...NO, I DO NOT WANT Lance to be the Starting Point Guard if GH misses any game. CJ and Sloan will be fine when we have other Ball Handlers like Lance, PG24 and Turner.

Thoughts and discussions on this Win?

Milwaukee was hitting some ridiculous shots, we managed to find a way to win.

Good win, despite some sentiments otherwise in the game thread.

I know you addressed this in your OP, but I would consider using a Lance and Turner back court for SMALL stretches of a game if Hill misses time (hopefully it isn't too serious)

I think Hill's ok. It's probably just a stinger. Will hurt like hell in the beginning. Luckily, we're off till Saturday. If it's still ailing him 2morrow, he can get treatment. IF, he can't play Saturday, I'd like to see Evan start at the one or two. Bench would be....

Welcome to the SMOTHERED CHICKEN club Evan Turner.

He didn't shoot well tonight but I was impressed with the other things he did tonight. He seemed to play much better D tonight than he did last game.

Quietly 2 solid games in a row for CJ. I don't think that is coincidence I think Turner taking some of the ball handling responsibilities from him in the 2nd unit will help his offensive focus.

Not so quietly as people around here have started taking notice but Mahinmi putting together a really good last couple of weeks. I have been hard on him in the past but I have to admit he is playing great basketball for a back up C at the moment.

I believe Bynum being there and spoken about as if it were certain he'd take over the BU center slot as soon as he's able has a lot to do with Ian's improved play.

Turner's D looked good. He had some awful shots though. Hey, it happens.

Turner struggled offensively, but he helped in other areas, and was pretty good defensively tonight, that block was great defense. Also a really good game for Hibbert

I guess the definition of good win is subjective.

Personally, I'll define any win when a team, regardless of their record, is giving you their best shot and you still find a way to close out the victory a good win.

But again, totally subjective and I admit that.

A 5 point win over the worst team in the NBA doesn't really pass the eye test.

We really are getting every team's best shot every night. If the Bucks could consistently play like that, they'd have a lot more wins.

It does when that worst teams spends three quarters hitting long ridiculous contested shots that they shouldn't even have taken.

It's not about the Bucks somehow getting divine intervention on some ridiculous shots and miraculously staying in the game.

We turned the ball over 19 times. They scored 25 points off them. You turn the ball over 19 times against the Heat, you lose.

The Bucks really went after Evan defensively tonight. Larry Drew probably figured ET might not be totally up to speed with the Pacers defensive schemes, but they still only really attacked him in one on one ISO situations. Evan played very well defensively tonight because the Bucks are really terrible at moving without the ball/moving the ball, so Evan only really had to guard people one on one. He's a good man defender, but sometimes falls asleep and gets backdoored and misses rotations if a team is cutting/moving the ball well.

Heat are up 25 on the Knicks. They're unlikely to lose that game.

This was maybe the most patient game I have ever seen Lance play, though he had a few careless passes late in the game.

Said last game Turner would have better nights on D, worse nights on O than he had in his debut. So...case in point tonight. Overall, a lot to like, Bucks couldn't miss on a few things. My one criticism was Paul George's defense. After he turned on the killswitch vs Lakers, I thought he was a bit sleepy on defense tonight. I still think he approaches games way too much either/or with offense/defense. Defense is the foundation of his game. Just hope he remembers that before the playoffs.

I liked the way the game was officiated. They did a really nice job of letting them play.
