Yeah but these months were supposed to be the easy part of our schedule. Where as Miami has entered the tough part. Yet they are closing the gap
There are no easy parts of an NBA schedule. Minnesota has a top ten player and maybe the best power forward in the league.

I was simply making the point that everyone views things differently. People with rosey glasses are likely annoying to those who see everything as the end of the world, just how it is vise versa.

As for the 16-8, even the majority of our wins during that stretch have just been ugly. We are simply more talented than most teams so we still get the W, but we do not look like a team that is trying to compete right now. Maybe we are coasting? Who knows. The only thing I do know is that we cannot go into the playoffs like this(far away I know, just simply saying it).
So now the Pacers have to not only win, but win dominantly every time they do? Who cares if they win ugly? This is not a 70 win team. We are not gonna roll through a regular season, we just don't have the offense for that. The hot start to the season got some people a little too optimistic I think, to the point where they think something is wrong if we go 16 and 8 over two months.

I think we're at about the same level as Miami and a step below OKC. Our record reflects that. I don't think that's rose colored glasses.

Our Pacers are 11-9 vs teams over .500

According to ESPN.com right now the Pacers are 11-8 against .500 and above teams. 30-5 against below .500 teams.

But so what. How do the other top teams stack up. Certainly the Heat and OKC have better records than us against .500 and above teams. But pacers have better than the other top teams. I don't think this is concerning

    Heat . 14-4 .. 24-10

    OKC 17-6 ... 26-6

    Spurs 14-12 ... 26-3

    Rockets 14-11 ... 23-6

    Clippers 13-12 ....24-7

    Blazers 13-13 ...23-5

Perhaps most encouraging is the Pacers are 6-3 against the top 6 teams listed above. Still have two more against the Heat. have the Spurs and OKC at home and still play at Hpouston.

What does concern me a lot though is I for the first time since probably mid December think the Heat will probably beat us out for best record in the east. Looking at the schedules the rest of the way, the heat just moved through a very tough patch and gained ground on us. They have 5 more home games than road games, and the pacers have I think 4 more road games than home games.

not that I think the pacers are going to fall apart - I do not - but I think the heat might end the season 25-5 the rest of the way.

Yes, and we lost to the Heat because they had game 7 at home. The same thing will happen again because our guys:

So essentially every thing I post you are going to attempt to take whatever I say out of context? Good to know.

I would respond to this, but feeding a troll never goes over well. Plus I need to get to work.

then what happened? we lost a game seven. even the players admitted if we played at home things would be different. if this team wants to win it all (it should) we need the home court advantage till the end. i don't see us winning an away game 7 against west.

besides as mentioned before my biggest concern about this team are showing off and whining. those things are growing habits that are not easy to give up. you can flip the switch and play harder and with more energy but imo you can't do the same about those two thing from one game to another.

Losing the Number 1 seed would be incredibly painful after holding it all season. I just don't think we can eliminate them without the HCA.

THIS.... Pacers will probably finish out 20-10. Infact we will probably lose the #1 seed next week because we have not played consistently enough to say that we will handle these next 5 inferior teams. I'm expecting 1-2 losses.

All they have to do is go 19-9 to do that. That is very feasible. Look at our next 16 games for example.

I don't feel that 19-9 to finish the season is a stretch. After the first 20 games of the year, I figured we'd end up at 62 wins and I'll stick with that.

If we win the next 5 though (@MIL, vs LAL, vs MIL, @BOS, vs UTAH), then suddenly we're 14-6 over our last 20, so it's really all about when you choose to make your slice in the schedule.

How do you figure that? 9-6 is a .600winning%. 19-9 would be a .678winning percentage. The difference between them? 1.1 games. The Pacers can go with a .666winning percentage (which to compare apples to apples would be 10-5) clip over the next 28 games and be right up next to 60 wins.

What if someone from a school of business or management school were to ask, How did you do this? How did you get the Pacers turned around? Is there a general approach you've taken that can be summarized?

    Larry Bird: Yeah, patience.

1.1 in that small of a sample size is a big deal.

Im going by when we started to play like crap. With how we are playing now. We arent going to win 5 in a row. So of course if we do win those then that signals a change

It's really not. It's the difference between losing against Orlando and winning.

Actually it 2 games since you have to round up here.

2 games wiggle room in a sample size of 28 is no alot
